Manages all functions of operation for the Parks and Recreations Waikiki Division, including Kapiolani Park and Kuhio Beach Park, Waikiki, Hawai'i. Manages, develops and implements all activities related to Maintenance of parks to ensure the safety, hygiene and enjoyment of the public parks and facilities for all visitors to Waikiki and all Hawai'i Residents. Oversees all Parks and Recreation policies for the Waikiki area related to operations, human resources, quality control, public safety and budgetary responsibilities according to all requirements. Manages 22 Groundskeepers, Senior Groundskeepers (Lead Foreman) and Power-Mower Operators. This includes conducting yearly performance evaluations, interviewing all entry-level hiring as a member of a selection committee, organizing all work schedules, oversight of training and operation of tools education according to local, state and federal safety regulations and OSHA guidelines.

Coaches the Lead Foremen to cross-cover and learn greater responsibilities to allow them the opportunity for career advancement and supervisory experience. Promotes employee enrichment sessions with staff to discuss current work-related issues once a month. This is an opportunity to encourage and reward exemplary employees and a forum for peer-to-peer education.

Plans, coordinates and executes all maintenance functions for most Waikiki area events(within the parameters of assigned work areas). including the Honolulu Marathon, and Numerous City of Honolulu events (Block Parties, Sunset on the Beach, Parades). Works with the Office of Information and Complaints to review and respond to all complaints reported and to resolve any identified issues with the goal of customer satisfaction. These complaints are then utilized as tools to assist in yearly planning of recurring events to anticipate and prepare accordingly.

Monitors inventory to ensure all supplies needed for daily operations are available while preventing overstock and opportunities for pilferage. Conducts daily inspections of all assigned areas and responsibilities including 5 beach centers/comfort stations and beach/public space of 9.84 acres. Member of the Essential Emergency Response Team (Kapiolani Regional Park) to coordinate, plan, implement all emergency activities for the Parks and Recreation Department of the Waikiki area.
