M.TECH DISSERTATION

Experimental investigation of the effect of CUO Nano-particles on Sintered wick heat pipe thermal performance.

Conclusions: The heat transfer and thermal performance of sintered wick heat pipe is experimentally investigated and compared for various work using fluids(DW and CUO Nano fluids at various concentrations),heat input rates and heat pipe inclination angles. The systematic experiments obtain the surface temperature, thermal resistance,effective thermal conductivity, heat transfer conductivity and heat transfer coefficient for the heat pipe. The following conclusions are drawn from this research: 1. The thermal conductivity increases with increase in Nano fluids concentration.

2. The wall temperature reduces significantly as concentration of Nano fluids increases.

3. Inclination angle and nanoparticle concentration in working fluid strongly affect the heat transfer performance of heat pipes.

4. Thermal resistance reduces by up to 48.4%.
