SUMMARY OF QUALIFICATIONS

Construction Project Manager/Electrical Engineering professional with over 28 years of industrial automation experience which include but not limited to writing specifications, contract management, initiation, planning, execution (PEP), scheduling, change management, as well as risk management of a project. I manage this work according to PMI standards through the development of a suitable project execution and control plan. My PMP training gives me knowledge and understanding of SV, CV, SPI, BAC, CPI, EAC, VAC. Throughout the lifecycle of the project I utilize standard PM tools and value-added processes to ensure scope, schedule and budget are achieved. After assigning work, I track progress through KPI’s, and other milestones met. Typically using Project or Primavera for scheduling. I analyze monthly variances along with mitigation strategies for these variances. If needed, I implement corrective measures.

Fully knowledgeable and experienced with SRS/DOE/DOD processes and methods needed to construct, install/modify, and commission any electrical or mechanical system needed. Consistently successful with labor relations, leading cross -functional teams of contractors, engineers, quality, and site personnel to achieve the most cost effective and optimal results. I excel from the initial walk down and constructability reviews to creating material take-offs and by being closely involved in the procurement process, I will save my company thousands of dollars and I enjoy this aspect of my job.

I take pride in knowing details about my projects and providing oversight. I inspect my contractors’ work and communicate with them frequently while the installation or modification is taking place, ensuring work is being performed according to the plans, and NFPA/NEC standards. Fuel Cell Energy Site Construction Manager for the fuel cell installation project at the San Bernardino Water Reclamation Plant. Coordination with customer/client and overseeing all mechanical, electrical, and civil contractor work needed to install this self-contained 1.4 MW, Biochemical Fuel Cell Module.

Electrical Construction Manager - Contract

Revolution Technologies / John Deere Inc., Grovetown, Ga. 02/2018-04/2020

Project Manager for John Deere plants 4000 & 5000 in Augusta, Ga. Working on several projects ranging in cost and complexity. Planning, estimating, negotiating, and overseeing contractors for $40MM relocation of production lines. Served as a technical expert on facility energy utilization, in support of the JD Energy Program by managing (1000) LED high bay lighting projects for 3 facilities. Review all energy-related responses to audits, inspections, surveys, and updated database to ensure consistency with JD Energy Program. Arc blast calculation project, switchgear, office remodel, new construction, and many smaller projects ongoing. Performed walk-downs and constructability reviews for proposed 2 story office complex/ modification to existing buildings. Created material take-off for all installation projects. Managed tear out and removal of 1000 tons of concrete and old conveyor line and installed 450 yards of new concrete.

Oxford Corp., Ladson, SC 06/2017-2/2018

Electrical Construction Manager on Mercedes’s Van Project in Ladson, SC. SME for conveyor project over 75 electricians. Providing expertise for installation of conveyor system within paint shop. Managed all aspects of the project including manpower, improve efficiency, tracking methods and communication with customer and other contractors. I was brought in to improve several issues with the current situation and manage the contractors for the electrical installation of automated assembly line that was way off schedule and no plan for recovery.

Manage contractors for electrical and civil installation of concrete vaults, flowable fill duct bank and grading, transformer and electrical panel demo and installations. Providing power and backup power for existing and upgraded cybersecurity project. High security, high visibility project. Served as a technical expert on facility energy utilization.

Electrical Construction Manager - Direct

Control Southern, Suwanee, Georgia 12/2014-5/2016

Construction Manager overseeing Electrical, Instrumentation & Controls work for this $3.2 billion project on Utilities, concrete work for Duct Bank, FAS, Pipe Rack System Instrumentation and installation, heat trace installation for the entire site, and Loop Check coordination/management. Tracking progress and reporting on each of these projects.

Expedited the completion of the fiber optic FAS loop connecting (33) facilities together through the duct bank with redundant fiber. This was completed several weeks earlier than expected through great communication & creative solutions.

Superintendent responsibility for Heat Trace site wide. Expedited completing of HT for critical systems and managed a total of 14 different contractors for HT project alone, over 28,000’ of heat trace cable.

Site Construction Project Manager - Contract

Impact Business Group, Denmark, SC 01/2012-12/2014

Site Construction Project Manager for client, Masonite Door, responsible for the next generation $17MM automated interior door production line and reconditioning/modification of 200,000 sq. ft. pre-existing facility.

Managed complete design, negotiated contractor bids, and installation of (25) office demolition and remodel. This project included (2) break rooms/locker room complete overhaul. Saved company $75k from original bids through effective negotiation. Installed new T8 lighting and received a $7k rebate from SC&G.

Technical advisor for Operations and Maintenance staff on all energy and utility projects and or issues.

Managed the installation of (2) production lines and associated automation equipment, installation of dust collection systems, manual equipment door lines, as well as new office and multiple rest room remodeling.

PM responsible for installation of 368 LED light fixtures replacing 668 HID fixtures resulting in an annual savings of $139k each year. Investigated, found and managed power company rebate worth $132k.

Responsible for implementation and maintenance of AB/Rockwell Automation PLC’s, Control Logix software, variable frequency drives, HMI, servo drives, Preventive & Predictive Maintenance, etc.

Savannah River Nuclear Solutions/Energy Solutions, Aiken, SC 08/2009-9/2011

Prime Contract Manager for Distributed Controls System (DCS) team on the $2.3 billion Nuclear Salt Waste Processing Facility (100% poured concrete structure) working closely with DOE representatives, and participated/prepared for DOE Constructive Program Review, and other milestones achieved as a federal contractor for DOE. Familiar with WBS, and PCS for accuracy, and control of the project.

Management responsibilities for eight DeltaV programmers, Instrument & Controls design engineers, and associated drawing deliverables with a budget of $1.3MM.

Over 28 years of experience with creating, reading, and interpreting single line drawings, electrical equipment specifications & lists, control system schematics, circuit, conduit, wiring, and connection design. Part of the team for developing and planning for future engineering goals & business initiatives.

Develop bids, proposals, work planning, development of block flow diagrams, material, P&ID development, scope changes, correspondence, estimates, schedules, material lists, procurement, specifications, design concepts, and any other project documentation per customer and corporate guidelines.

Construction Project Manager - Direct

Fluor Corporation, Badin, NC 04/2008-8/2009

Project Manager on $44MM modernization project for (4) Alcoa Hydro-Electric Dam Facilities & associated systems. Worked with Voith/Westinghouse contractors on repairs/refurbishment of 1 of 16 operating Vertical Waterwheel Generators and Turbine Units. The ten-year project put on hold just one year in, after issues arose with the city renewing a fifty-year license agreement.

Responsible for all aspects of the $6MM Supervisory Control and Data Acquisition (SCADA) Project.

Directed/Superintendent 7 Remote Terminal Units (RTU) installations and the design of the fiber optic communications network between these sites, including managing underground burial of redundant fiber.

Managed a variety of other smaller projects associated with Hydro-Electric Dam facilities, which included collaboration with Progress and Duke utility companies.

Airports Project Manager / Electrical Engineer - Direct

DHL Express, Wilmington, Ohio 04/2003-4/2008

Managed/coordinated all site activities (internal customer, engineering, airport authority, contractors, purchasing, & construction) for approximately 250 U.S. airport facilities where DHL resides.

Project Manager for design & installation of six completely automated parallel generator systems including concrete base and concrete catch basin. The project was completed according to the original baseline schedule and under budget by $240K. Removal and re-routed main feeders.

Project manager for new facility design, build-out, retrofit, remodel, and moves, including Business Concept Analysis, with responsibility for all aspects from concept to final delivery to internal customers.

Responsible for the design and fabrication of new material handling (I&C) equipment for automated sort centers. This included specifications, development, design review, and validation of purchased equipment.

Designed layout of power distribution, MCCs, switchgear specifications, underground utilities, as well as strong troubleshooting skills, start-up, and maintenance procedures for multiple regional hubs.

Managed automation upgrade, installation of conveyor systems and paint robots in a joint venture, and new product launch with Ford at the Escobedo, Mexico facility.
