Job Description:

Prior to 2006 down sizing, positions required incremental responsibility for case management, field visits & assessments, transportation, referrals, documentation & organization of all case related issues & events; preparation of court documents; & timely data entry of all client records using a variety of client welfare operating systems including CIS, ICWSIS, FSFN and Safenet. Supervisory duties included: staffing new cases; direct supervision and working with administrative staff (population consistent with responsibilities); mentoring, evaluation, & disciplinary action & mentorship of probationary supervisors; review/certification of employee records, preparation of statistical reports, scheduling, inventory, various meetings, dissemination of information, court participation, TPR consults, staffings (permanency, reunification, baby born, case closures), CQI & COA, and liaison with community providers & partners. Case management positions required case management for abused, neglected and/or abandoned children and their families, high profile foster teens with extreme mental health issues & sexual/substance abuse histories & delinquency, & sexually abused small children. Job duties included familiarity with Florida Statues, Chap. 39, preparation of court documents/court appearances, initiation/supervision of ICPC, Marchman Acts, & Walker Plans, diligent searches, documentation/timely data entry of client referrals and records, transportation, visitation, home studies, courtesy supervision, & all documents required for the Interstate Compact on the Placement of Children, monitoring of child & parent progress & needs, identification of resources to facilitate case management, funding applications, preparation of court documents, representation of children in court, & development of a network of community resources etc. Teacher/ School Administrator, (1972-1994) Retired Virgin Islands Gov't
