Project Abstract
Title: Stabilization of expansive soil by using lime and bagasse ash. Scope: Expansive soil is a type of clay that is prone to large volume changes (swelling and shrinking) that are directly related to changes in water content. The construction on black cotton soil (expansive soil) has always been a difficult task for the engineers as the structure resting on black cotton soil cracks without any warning. The main scope of this project is to economically improve the engineering properties of the black cotton soil. This shows a potential of using bagasse ash and lime in stabilized expansive soil.
