Now I’m working with Archen Engineering as a part of the Technical Support Team
(TST) in the Saudi Ministry of Interior (MOI). My role is to prepare a Conceptual Structural Design include the proposed structural systems, type of foundations and, in order to estimate quantities. It was a fast track 8 month job. I worked with KEO in King Abdullah Financial District (KAFD) - Monorail Project in KSA-Riyadh, KEO was the designer of the monorail infrastructure (viaducts, stations, emergency walkway…). Scope of work of the design team includes preparing Design Criteria Report, Preliminary, Intermediate and Final Design Calculation Reports, Specifications, Design and Shop drawings, and method statement. As a Sr. Structural Engineer my responsibility was to lead the design team so as to complete the design of the steel emergency walkway, coordination with other disciplines and companies, manage and control the time, cost, scope of work and manage design team. The emergency walkway had a complicated architectural shape, which produced a high and varied stresses on the structural steel element, the design had been conducted according to AISC 360.
