KEY ACHIEVEMENTS
Secured a container revolving deposit facility with the major shipping lines like, PIL (Kenya) Ltd, Mediterranean shipping company (Ocean freight EA Ltd) contracts. This increased the organization capacity to handle more imports by 80%.
Designed an organization communication structure which helped the company streamline its communication vertically, horizontally, hence making operations coordination easier.
Introduced an internship program the year 2017 for logistics students and graduates from colleges and universities which helped in reducing the company operations cost by 20%
Secured a five-year contract with one of the top supply chain retail store in Kenya Tusker Mattresses limited (Tuskys) an account which increased the company by 30%.
Implemented a logistics management system (ERP) which was designed and developed specifically to meet our organization and our customers’ needs which have been 70% adopted and embraced by employees.
In the year 2018 and 2019 I was able to train more than 100 logistics and supply chain professionals from FMG organizations who we partner in business on matters pertaining logistics and Supply chain management and the new technological advancements affecting the industry.
In 2015 the company was awarded a certificate of recognition by the Kenya Freight Forwarders and Warehousing Association (KIFWA) through my active participation in discussion forums on matters affecting the logistics industry in the country.
I have been able to fully integrate all the organizations logistics and supply chain functions with other key business functions, through ensuring there is full collaboration and coordination between all leaders in different logistics units with other leaders from other departments; Human resource, Finance and others which enabled the organization to meet its long term and short term goals and objectives in the year 2015 to 2018
Complimented on several occasions by our customers; importers, exporters, suppliers and transporters on an outstanding customer care and business relationship management both locally and at global level.
In 2012 I documented more than twenty (20) contracts with different importers, transporters and suppliers which 80% were permanently adopted by both our clients and our company with minimal alterations on the terms of the agreement.
In 2013 I succeeded in documenting almost 90% of all the company logistics procedures and processes especially import and export customs procedures which made it easier for existing, new recruits and interns to catch up with work with minimal training.
As the head of declaration and documentation in general, I came up and implemented a procedure for commodity Hs code and tariff confirmation, this procedure reduced the tariff and valuation errors during import and export customs processes. This increased accuracy in documentation and declaration by 40% hence reduced the loss which occurs in terms of customs penalties and offenses by 80%
Managed 5 key accounts of importers and exporters which contributed to 40% of the company revenue generation in the year 2014.
Established a very solid relationship between the company and the government and private sector especially; Customs, Kebs, KPA and other industry regulators which we have been embracing for more than 5 years. This ensured seamless import and export operations by the company.
In the year 2010, I was able to secure all the organization funds which were stuck within the shipping lines as container deposits and proposed a new method of follow up which was adopted by the company up to date.
Received an award for as the best employee of the year 2012 this was as a result of my splendid performance in port operations in meeting the timeline set for verification of cargo at the port of Mombasa.
