Project title: Preparation Of Bio diesel From Thespesia populena (portia tree)

Duration: 1 Month

Institution: Anna University Chennai

DESCRIPTION ON PROJECT:

•Seeds were separated out and the fresh seeds were dried in hot air oven at 80 C and the decrease in moisture content.

• The oil content of seeds was determined by Soxhlet extraction with n-hexane

• The extraction was performed on a water bath for 2 h with n-hexane for 6 cycles.

• After the extraction was completed, the excess solvent was removed under distillation method and the oil recovered
