Responsible for assessing individuals with development disabilities in group homes on an as needed basis (if they are sick, have been recently discharged from hospital/rehab facility or there is a change in baseline) as well as monthly assessments. I am the nurse responsible for 13 houses (54 individuals).

I teach a medical section of our orientation every two weeks.

I assist program operations managers (house managers) with MARs (medication administration records) Medication treatment plans and Supportive and Protectives.

I conduct med audits in the homes where I look over the individuals Dr.'s orders, MARs and medication labels according to MAP policy for accuracy.

I also have a hand in writing medical protocols for many of our individuals.

I attend Dr.’s appointments for our individuals. I also attend Risk meetings where we discuss many things including medical reasons that individual may be at risk.

I help with discharges from hospitals and rehab facilities.
