ROLE SUMMARY / PURPOSE

Mechanical Technician responsible for Automated machines day to day and plant related activities preventive, predictive The and breakdowns maintenance, modifications, Inventory reporting and spares management. Supervision of Installation, Commissioning, Protocol running of New & Shifting machines activities during project phase. Team Lead to Mechanical Maintenance is responsible for managing process audits, QMS, Lean /Kaizen/5S/TPM/TQM/OSM all aspects of Mechanical maintenance of complete plant through Contractors Staff and/or Customers workforce to ensure safe, reliable and efficient plant operations.

MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES / KEY SKILLS

Provide leadership to the maintenance team (Mechanical) in the day to day maintenance activities. "Tackles all mechanical equipment breakdowns and planned/preventive/predictive maintenance work with minimum direction and supervision within the given time constraint minimizing production downtime.

Continuously Participating company training programs like TPM Implementaion (12 steps) assessments, governance, training and coaching, V Autonomous Maintenance activities ( jishu Hozen 7 steps ) Planned Maintenance Pilar ( 6 steps )TQM, Six Sigma.

Receives verbal/written instructions from Sr. Mechanical Engineer / Mechanical Engineer, obtains permit through RIS, identify and organizes tools, tackles & spares from store and completes the maintenance work as assigned with minimum supervision.

Assists in the inspection of malfunctioning machinery or engines with senior technician for analysis and repair. To develop, supervise and co-ordinate plant maintenance activities. Technically assesses the requirement of allocated jobs and selects the necessary tools and equipment to complete the work. Coordinates closely with other maintenance disciplines and other departments to complete the assigned jobs.

Plan and inspect completed work on plant equipment. Ensures that all maintenance work is carried out in accordance with the safety procedures and plant operational requirements. Performs various works related to installation of new machinery, welding and fabrication.

Carries out overhauls on large and medium sized rotating equipment and machinery, changing parts as required, checking bearings, seals, impeller, casing and blades and ensuring that clearances and tolerances are within acceptable limits.

Maintains equipment history and ensures correct management of work orders. Assists in the inspection of malfunctioning machinery or engines with senior technician for analysis and repair To maintain records, prepare reports and compose correspondence relative to work. Monitors any repeated breakdown and recommends/completes proper modification to resolve the problem.

Acquire considerable knowledge of the process and the relevant Electrical and instrument & control systems throughout the plant and apply the same to trouble shoot problems and lead the maintenance team in resolving the issue.

Using the computerized maintenance system (SAP, ERP), orders the spare parts from warehouse and maintains records of all maintenance work completed. Promote development and succession management in Mechanical Section.

Carries out routine preventive maintenance of machinery and equipment according to schedules, checklists, and specific equipment requirements. Includes changing oils, cleaning strainers and filters, greasing and general overhaul of equipment. To train the subordinates on preventive and corrective maintenance.

Identifies and reports any abnormalities. Initiates repairs/replacements/tests/ assembles worn out or failed components/parts. Reports to supervisor and takes necessary action to overhaul/replace parts, leaving the working area clean.

Communicate effectively with managers, peers and team fellows, both verbally and in writing. Daily housekeeping in work area and for leaving the work area in a safe, clean and tidy condition to improve site pride and safety. Mentors newly joined mechanics in order to equip them with the plant & equipment knowledge necessary to carry out maintenance work.

Continuously works towards improving EHS and Plant & Equipment Performance by participating in all BE activities like,5S, Daily Tool Box Talks, Monthly Safety meetings, Annual Fire and Safety training, First Aid training, Medical check-ups, Hazard Reporting, OSM,, Emergency Squad training, all to ensure the well being of staff & plant.

Contribute to continuous improvement of equipment and plant condition through participating in suggestion scheme (KAIZEN ) and implementing innovative ideas. Work safely by wearing the correct Personal Protective Equipment for the job being done at all times, hence protect health and safety at work.

Assists other departments in the repair and troubleshooting of equipment. Inputs data into maintenance management systems for works and manning records. Responsible for quality control of work submits to ensure Mechanical Integrity. Performs all the PM'S and running inspections.

Familiar with PFD, P&ID, GA and Cross sectional drawings and basic API plans relevant to equipment. Ensure that all preventive maintenance work is carried out in accordance with Safety procedures and plant operational requirements.

Carries out skilled corrective maintenance and repair on equipment, which are identified through regular predictive checks or failures of equipment and systems. Includes the disassembly of pumps, checking radial bearing clearance and pump impeller performance, and completing failure analysis.

Perform the lubrication of the rotary equipment including checking / filling lube oil/ grease in bearing housings, oil consoles, crank cases etc. Replacement and cleaning of lube oil systems, filters, lube oil sight glasses, hydraulic oil filters, maintain auto greasing and drip feeding systems etc. Recommend/ request asset integrity team to perform oil analysis, if required.

Performs major equipment overhauls and participates in shutdown works. Carries out correct measurements of clearances/tolerances using a wide range of measuring instruments such as micrometer, Vernier calliper, depth gauge, feeler gauge etc.

Carry out highly skilled maintenance, repair and overhaul of Rotary equipment such as Pumps, Compressors, Steam/Gas turbines, Air fans, Mixers, Turbo Machinery etc. and minor/routine maintenance of static equipment.

Working exp. With CMD Advance machine Like Mark 8,Mark 9, GD121A . PMD Dept. Adavance machines Hauni KT2, Garbiuo SD3.Tobacco cutters. Dickenson slicers, Atlas copco compressor etc.
