Dear Mr./Ms

I kindly apply for English teaching post that is currently advertised in your school. I am a qualified teacher with Bachelor of Education (B.Ed, Further Education and Training) from the Cape Peninsula University of Technology. I am very passionate about my profession because I get an opportunity to contribute towards holistic development of the younger generation in preparation for better tomorrow. I have taught in South Africa and abroad at both elementary and high school levels. This exposure augmented my knowledge about my professional field of practice while at the same time cultivated my professional gaze. I am therefore able to work with learners from different cultural and social class backgrounds and my pedagogic variations caters for such diversity while enabling inclusivity.

As an educator I have my guiding values and principles which include working towards creating learner environments that are engaging, enthusiastic and student-centred. Approaching education as a process of co-creation whereby the educator and learners work together to create the learning experiences. I have a theory into practice model and my teaching is therefore guided by sound pedagogical theories with stronger external language of description (speak with practice).

In 2017 I have been teaching English to middle school students, Grade 5/6/7 at Bahçeşehir Koleji, Kocaeli in Turkey. Managing the difference of abilities among my students proved a difficult, but gratifying challenge. I tailored activities to maintain the interest of high-level students without intimidating less-skilled English speakers. My careful preparation of lessons allowed me to break down complicated concepts to simple examples that my young students could grasp; which was rewarding for both my students and me.
