ACADEMIC PROJECT

PROJECT DESCRIPTION/ ABSTRACT

Study of Dynamic Vibration

Absorber as a preventive

measure against structural

excitation. (Final Year Project)

Dynamic vibration absorbers or tuned mass dampers can be used to prevent seismic damage to structures, especially the ones near earthquake prone areas. The project is based on the idea to transmit the amplified natural frequency energy to a suspended mass which in turn oscillates in a different frequency, simple harmonically, thus reducing the chance of cracks and failures in the parent structure UJAN SENGUPTA
