Georgia College & State University operates on the semester system, consisting of fifteen week fall and spring semesters. There is also a twelve week summer semester with courses of variable length.

Georgia College & State University converted from a quarter system calendar to a semester system calendar in Fall 1998. A student enrolled both before and after the Fall 1998 term has a conversion term included on his or her record to account for this change.
