PROJECTS

●X-ray Diffraction Project- Diffraction of X-ray through cubic systems such as NaCl, KCl, Al, Mo, LiF, RbCl, Si & Ge using Philips Diffractometer. Calculating mean weighted lattice constant and comparing with standard values. Calculating structure factor for these crystals for different sets of Miller indices.

●Optoelectronics project- Study of direct and indirect bandgap semiconductors. Calculating the diode energy gap using the I-V characteristics graph with the help of PASCO ADC Interface and Avantes Spectrometer. Analyzing the relationship between photon energy and turn on voltage by using the graph. Obtaining and analyzing the wavelength spectrum using Avantes Spectrometer. Finding the relation between wavelength and energy gap for given LED by using the graph. Study of Δƛ Vs energy gap for the given LED. Study of optical fiber of different lengths and its attenuation for different wavelengths

●Optical Fiber Workshop- Assemble of two kinds of optical fiber Single mode & Multi mode using the tools. Polishing and detecting the scratch in core for final testing the transmission using green laser, photodetector & Voltmeter measuring attenuation.

●Anderson Localization Experiment- Measurement of Microwave Fields along the length of multimode cylindrical Copper tube with randomly positioned Alumina spheres using Vector Network Analyzer.

●Growth and Characterization of Quantum Dots- Preparation of samples for further characterization of Type -II ZnTe/ZnSe quantum dots by Chemical itching of InP & InGaAs.

●BSCCO Project- Study of Josephson Junctions in Bi-2212 (Type II superconductors) for THz radiations. Assembling and testing the Ar-ion Milling to fabricate a stack of Intrinsic Josephson Junctions for BSCCO mesa. Using Blackbody source and Si- Bolometer for responsivity Calibration.

Skills:

Knowledge of Electromagnetic waves and propagation in different media.

Graduate Laboratory projects in Optics and Modern Physics with error analysis using MS-Excel and Python.
