Goal:

Provide leadership to the younger folks coming into the mechanical/industrial piping

field. With my 40 plus years of experience, I want to help pass on my experience to

the new folks coming because we need hands on training along with education. I were

semi-retired and discovered retirement in both boring and non-productive.

My duties were to supervise the Pipe Department on the weekend shift.

BAE Systems were building 4 oil well supply boats. These boats used the

latest technology. Total electric propulsion and bow thrusters.

All powered by 2-1000 HP Rolls Royce generators

Under The direction of the TATA offshore team,

My duties were to Photo 105 fans used to remove

air from the product lines. Field draw ISO’s and equipment

location diagrams. ISO’s were of the ducts.

The Plant has 35 product supply fans providing the product

the lines. They had pumps supplying glue and AGM to the diaper

lines. This engineering was being done across the globe at all P&G

plants. All plants were working toward ISO 9000.

My duties was to oversee the building of mechanical

turnover package for the third party client, Bechtel.

We received documents from construction via QC/QA dept.

We checked for sign offs, then put ISO, P & ID, mechanical

vendor documents, pipe support info, paint and underground

coating inspection records, flange and equipment torque report etc.

2/25/08 - 3/28/08 Mechanical Turnaround Coordinator

Contract position term of turnaround.

This was Lockwood – Green a union contractor.

Responsible for heat exchanges and furnaces. Six heat exchanges had to have the bundles pulled, jet cleaned, tested, reassembled, and pressure tested. One heat exchanger had to have the bundles pulled, tubes jet cleaned. Shell was UT/MT test and reassembled, tested, and recertified. Six overhead heat exchanges had all plugs removed and IRIS test on tubes. Plugs replaced and tested. One furnace had the burners replaced

and several leaking tubes had to be repaired.
