Successfully, deployed safety, industrial hygiene and environmental processes, systemically, to ensure continuous improvement in EHS stewardship, directed toward preventing incidents, hazard identification, eliminating identified hazards, minimizing waste, pollution prevention, reducing injuries and unsafe conditions.

Judiciously provided professional EHS guidance to the plant management team, to ensure compliance with facility environmental operating permits. Developed and guided internal EHS & ISO 14001 cross-functional committees, with a continuous improvement mindset.

Developed multiple types of subject matter specific training media, deployed throughout all departments, for various health & safety improvement initiatives, corporate policies and/or OSHA promulgated standards impacting operations. Collected, compiled & trended data relative to the progress of such initiatives and best practices, including submitting recommendations to improve lagging and leading indicators.

Primary point of contact for regulators (city, federal & state), visiting the Facility. Maintained OSHA 300 related data and reports.

Identified and collated facility specific data and accurately prepared required monthly, quarterly, semi-annual and/or annual environmental reports, pursuant to city and/or state operating permit(s). Report preparation included but not limited to: Quarterly CEMSCOMS, Hazardous Waste, Semi-annual, WW, SW & Annual Compliance Certification, Tier II, TRI & GHG. Monitored annual stationary source emissions testing for conformance with test methods and accurate emission data collection.

Accomplishments:

Helped reduce facility annual injury incident rate from 11.3 to 3.6.

Developed a comprehensive at-risk behavior identification & mitigation program; trained employees and audited related activities.

Developed & implemented a comprehensive industrial hygiene monitoring program (noise, various metals, crystalline silica); recommended and guided the implementation of engineering and/or administrative controls, which greatly reduced occupational exposures and need for PPE, in most instances.

Developed a comprehensive, written crystalline silica compliance program template, adopted by corporate & rolled out to all 13 manufacturing plants.

Slashed wastewater treatment costs by 50% by eliminating inadequate and unnecessary pretreatment applications, with approval of City WW coordinator.

Managed initial ISO 14001 certification & subsequent related activities and recertifications of the Facility.
