Personal Statement:

I am a substantive consultant urological surgeon & clinical service lead at The Princess Alexandra Hospital NHS Trust, Essex, UK. I have a sub-specialty interest in the diagnosis and management of urinary tract stone disease and all other aspects of endourology and minimally invasive urological surgery. My Special areas of expertise include Percutaneous Nephrolithotomy in both the prone and supine positions including performing my own access, flexible ureterorenoscopy and laser stone fragmentation, diagnosis and management of upper tract urothelial tumours, endoscopic management of bladder cancer, medical and surgical management for benign prostatic disease including UROLiFT, laser prostatectomy (HoLEP) and management of ureteric strictures. After completing my basic surgical and urological training and conducting the relevant academia during my urology higher surgical specialist training programme on the London training scheme. During my training I have been involved in teaching juniors, medical students & nurses.

I am extremely passionate about academic urology as evident from the presentations & publications. I have also led and completed numerous academic projects, published in peer- reviewed journal, authored book chapters and presented in international, national & regional meetings. In addition, I am a peer reviewer for many international journals. Qualifications:

• I was in the lead role of director and vice president of Blood Transfusion Services in The Patients’ Welfare Association, Asia’s largest student run NGO in Pakistan. During my two years tenure, I introduced a cell separator system to retrieve high yield of platelets from a single donor that significantly reduced the shortage of platelets supply. I also organized blood donation camps on various occasions. I am still actively involved in fund raising for this reputable organization.

• I supervise the junior doctors in performing different procedures such as flexible cystoscopy, rigid cystoscopy, JJ stent insertion, venfelons, taking ABGs and catheterization. I also augment their histories and presentation skill by one to one active teaching.

• I teach the patients by giving healthy tips about importance of hand hygiene, role of balanced diet, regular exercise, disadvantages of smoking for their health. IT experience:
