Telecommunication Project Manager/ Design Engineer

I have over 35 years of experience designing, managing and directing large-scale communications and technology-intensive projects. Providing highly skilled management of communication and infrastructure projects for large-scale new construction and major renovation projects. Provided comprehensive project management, contract negotiation and management of all associated technology and labor forces for complex projects including all communications components and technologies. Provide strategic input for the development of new Data Center site selection, such as square foot requirements, outside plant availability and power and cooling needs. Provided comprehensive review of all engineering discipline plans and drawings to provide coordination and to identify technical challenges effecting the construction and implementation of Data Centers, Main and Intermediate Distribution Frames, and riser and local IT cable distribution. Additionally, provide feedback to the MEP engineers for site specific requirements affecting Data Center construction;

I have been instrumental in the design, development, and implementation of many of the largest communication and infrastructure projects completed to date. As a design and communication consultant I have been instrumental in many major projects such as a new data center and major relocation for Merrill Lynch, a major re-stack for Smith Barney, the design implementation and IT construction management for Bear Stearns new corporate headquarters.

I have also served as Communications Manager for First Boston Corporation managing the day-to-day communication activities supporting trading operations. Additionally, in the role as Vice President of Telecommunications for American Express, I designed and implemented one of the first IBM Cable System installations in North America at the World Financial Center. He was also responsible for the installation and maintenance of a 30,000-line PBX.

Preparation of deployment plans for the installation of new network and desktop equipment; Preparation of “From To” relocation plans for the relocation of personnel;

Notable Projects Experience Recent:

American Dream Mall and Entertainment Center: March 2018 to May 2019: Provided Infrastructure Design, Coordination, and implementation for four (4) Major Telecommunication rooms, 70 IDFs supporting all IT services, Distributed Antenna Services, Security and LAN for a 5.5 million square foot facility consisting of retail and entertainment space.

Bloomberg: February 2004 to March 2016: Provided Infrastructure Design, Coordination with all design and engineering groups as effecting the overall IT design, IT Construction Management and Quality Oversight for multiple Corporate locations consisting of multi-storied buildings housing over one hundred personnel per floor, Conference Rooms, Specialized Rooms and Amenities. These locations included both Main and Redundant Distribution Frames (MDF).

Bloomberg: April 2016 to February 2018: Provided Data Center Design and Implementation for over 20k sq. ft. of white space in Orange Count, NY; Coordination with all design and engineering groups as effecting the overall IT design, Provided relocation planning for the relocation of equipment for a decommissioned location to this new facility.

Major Accomplishments:

Managed the processes for Bank One’s cable plant infrastructure installation and equipment deployment for two (2) 90,000 square foot data centers. Developed methodologies to contain cost over runs and maintain installation schedules. January 2003 December 2003:

Created budgetary requirements as related to the cabling infrastructure components of the AIG Insurance Data Center in Fort Worth, Texas; Project consisted of 70,000 square feet of Data Center space and 30,000 feet of office space;

Senior project manager for the new Bear Stearns corporate headquarters; Managed all technology consultants and provided interface to firm management;

Managed the implementation of the cabling infrastructure, network, and voice systems components of Corporate Headquarters for Bear Stearns in NYC; Projected consisted of 1.1 million square feet including two (2) 30,000 square feet of Data Centers and 3,400 trading positions;

Designed the cabling infrastructure components for CIBC New York City headquarters;

Designed and implemented communications facilities to support a new site at the World Financial Center for the NY Mercantile Exchange. This space included the Trading Floors for the enhanced operations of the NY Mercantile Exchange all the required support space for the operational personnel.

Designed and implemented communications facilities to support a new site located in Somerset NJ for Merrill Lynch. This space was comprised of four (4) floors supporting 700 employees, including a 25,000-sqft data center. Responsibilities included cable plant and equipment room design, construction management, and implementation;

Plan, design and implement the installation of a 16,000-line PBX to support the American Express Headquarters

Design and implement an integrated voice and data cable facility to support the American Express Headquarters Vice President of Technology Operations for the American Express Corporate Headquarters at the World Financial Center; Managed a staff of engineers, analysts and technicians providing Voice, Data, Market Data and Cable Facilities for American Express its subsidiaries, including Shearson Lehman Hutton;

NY University (May 2019 to Present)

IT Infrastructure Specialist As a Contractor provided technical design, Project and IT Construction Management for the school’s IT construction and infrastructure upgrades. Provided direction for the upgrade of MEP services to provide proper power and cooling.

The American Dream Project Consultant (July 2018 to May 2019)

IT Construction Manager As a consultant conduct a review of existing IT infrastructure created at the start of the project when it was known as Xanadu to determine validity of basis of design. Conduct survey of the installed fiber optic cable infrastructure to determine if still technically appropriate and recommend updates, conduct a survey of the installed cable routing methodology for conduit and free-air routing, recommend modifications and or additions, Redesign, implement and upgrades to 70 existing IDFs and 4 major technology rooms supporting all facets of IT, AV, and DAS services.

I have provided the guidance and direction to the team of senior project managers to ensure client satisfaction.
