Reassigned to VFA-86. Involved in transition from A-7’s to FA-18’s conducting transition inspections as well as acceptance inspections for arriving FA-18’s. As a member of the Airframe Shop, in addition to regular duties, participated in FA-18 operational readiness program and actually conducted initial airframe changes after production. Instructed others on various airframe changes. Regular duties (highest qualified ‘E4’) included structural/ hydraulics, airframes branch maintenance man and maintained the squadron hydraulics contamination analysis program and Technical Publications Library on the FA-18.

Served with Attach Squadron 86 and participated in exercises aboard the Carrier Nimitz, including its Med cruise.
