Work Experience
Since July 2013 till date I have been working as a subcontractor on Norton James Surveys sites in Durban. Most sites consists of building structures, roads, platforms, sewer and storm water setting out with bulk earth works quantities calculations in Model Maker programme. Before that I had been employed as a senior survey technician at the following companies:

In this Johannesburg based company I was involved in Group 5 projects and the last project I did was at Mafikeng “Bophelong Psychiatric Hospital” which was mainly setting out of building structures, roads, sewer & storm water services. I was also involved in one of Steffanotti Stocks project at Four Ways on the expansion of the K45 road. My duties were mainly setting out of road profiles and betters, balk earth works volumes, quality checking of road layers, kerb lines, concrete structures as well as storm water services. (All calculations & volumes were done in Model Maker and setting out with a Psion work about with logger programme)

On this Port Elizabeth based company I had been employed as a senior survey technician and my duties were mainly setting out roads, concrete structures, building platforms, sewer & storm water services, bulk earth works volume calculations & tachy surveys for as built drawings in Model Maker programme. From September 2008 to December 2009 I was involved in a Bombela C.J.V working under A.P Lynch Surveys for Grineker as a survey consultant where we did supervision and checking of more than 25M deep excavations for the Gautrain project. I also did earth works setting out for the N14 widening, the on and off ramp of K103 and Eeuffise road for the Gautrain over pass at DP6 Snake Valley. The other section was at DP4 Airport Link where we were checking all the earth works setting out, quality checking for the layers, the positions of the masts catenaries, pulling chambers and noise barriers.
From January 2007 to August 2008 I was also involved in a construction of the Dedisa Power Station in P.E where I was setting out 500m by 500m platform, pylons, access roads, sewer & storm water services as well as calculating earth works volumes in Model Maker programme. During my stay there I was also involved for 6 months in the construction of the Nelson Mandela Bay Multipurpose Stadium where I did setting out of earth works and calculating bulk earth works volume for quantities in Model Maker.
From January 2006 to December 2006 I was working for STS survey in Durban. I was mostly involved in the Mawelewele township development where we did the setting out of access & main roads, house water connections, sewer & storm water services as well as platforms for the R.D.P houses in south of Durban. As part of my in service training in January 2005 to December 2005 I was involved in the Rock Art Mapping Project at the Drakensburg. The project was all about mapping and producing 3D images of ancient bushman rock paintings. Our duties as survey trainees were mainly to take G.P.S readings for every new site explored, do a tachy survey of the ground levels and producing as built drawings of each site in Model Maker.
Brief Self-Profile I consider myself a responsible and dynamic person. I look forward to a challenge and enjoy working together as a team. I have not obtained my qualification yet but with my experience I am confident in solving any problem being nature of my work.
