Position: Safety Officer

Responsibilities:

Implementation of HSE, training crew/subcontractor and documentation.

Perform all tasks which have been allocated by the Party Chief.

Ensured that policies are brought to the attention of employees and sub- contractors. Determined that these policies are understood, and that employees and sub-contractors are in compliance with them.

Ensured that Policies and procedures are periodically audited and the updated versions are distributed accordingly.

Conducted internal audits and provide recommendations. Conducted safety meetings to ensure employees and sub-contractors are in compliance with crew procedures.

Assist in all incident and accident investigations conducted on the crew.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:

Safety assistants and members of the crew and report to the HSE Advisor through the line management system on all HSE. The HSE Advisor to report directly to the Party Chief/HSE Country manager on all aspects of Health, Safety, Environment and Security.

Specific responsibilities that were included were not limited to:

To develop a safety program that provides for the safety and welfare of all crew personnel, organize and train all department members on proper safety procedures and risk analysis.

To ensure that personnel in the operation are aware of the crew safety structure and that all persons under his operational control are conversant with the practices and procedures for their job and that these practices are being implemented on a day to day basis.

Organize regular safety drills, briefs, pep talks, training, arrange the monthly crew committee meeting chaired by the PC/PM and document, and used to circulate the minutes.

To ensure personnel are aware that the environment should be kept clean and tidy and in the event of an accident, an immediate and diligent investigation will be conducted, and a fully documented hazard identification and safety critical analysis completed to prevent any future reoccurrence.

The HSE Advisor use to organize the display and distribution of safety hints and slogans and monitor and advise on compliance with safety regulations and procedures to the PC/PM.

The HSE Advisor will produce all reports and safety correspondence for the crew and provide feedback on all given information to the crew and client.
