Summary of Responsibilities

• Executive Officer, Special Investigations Division. Units which fall under this division are the Major Case Squad, Cold Case Squad, Arson Explosion, Computer Crimes, Missing Persons, Joint Bank Robbery Task Force, Violent Crimes Squad and Animal Cruelty Squad.

• Executive Officer, Central Investigation and Resource Division. Develop policy and distribute resources within the detective bureau.

• Executive Officer, Fugitive Enforcement Division. Responsible for apprehension of individuals wanted for crimes in New York City.

• Commanding Officer, Manhattan South Detective Operations. Oversee all investigations below 59th Street in Borough of Manhattan.

• Commanding Officer, New York County District Attorney’s Squad. Responsible for overseeing investigations being conducted by squad of detectives assigned to the Manhattan District Attorney’s Office.

• Commanding Officer, Zone 2 Detective Borough Manhattan. Responsible for overseeing and reviewing investigations being conducted by the 6th, 9th, 10th, and 13th Precinct Detective Squads.

• Commanding Officer Manhattan and then Brooklyn South, Staten Island Gang Unit. Responsible for investigation of all gang related and motivated incidents in the boroughs of Brooklyn South and Staten Island. Multiple search warrants, gun buys and firearm arrests.

• Executive Officer of the 6th Precinct. Second in command of Precinct which has 110 personnel assigned. Responsible for management of all command operations and development of strategies to address crime conditions. Develop training for personnel and monitor overtime for command.

• Commanding Officer Special Service Unit. Command covert investigative group conducting highly sensitive investigations and provide intelligence information garnered during investigations to units within the department. Coordinate with Federal Protective Services, i.e. Secret Service and State Department for protection of high-threat dignitaries while in New York. Perform risk assessments and surveys at sensitive locations and submit findings to security personnel. Responsible for management of office where unit is located, numerous apartments and budget.

• Supervisor of Investigations, OEEO. Review investigations into allegations of employment discrimination within the department and prepare reports for review by Police Commissioner. Train all newly promoted police supervisors within the department on issues of employment discrimination and maintaining a professional work environment.

• Platoon Commander 103 Precinct. Oversee patrol operations within command and insure proper deployment as well as expeditious response by personnel.

• Commanding Officer 6th Precinct Detective Squad. Command investigative unit consisting of two sergeants and approximately twenty-five detectives. Oversee and review all investigations and administrative responsibilities. Maintain productive relationship with prosecutorial agencies, organize court testimony and evaluate personnel.

• Internal Affairs Bureau, Sergeant. Conduct investigations into allegations of corruption, criminal behavior and inappropriate conduct made against employees of the New York City Police Department. Assigned to Eastern District New York.

• Major Case, OCCB, Detective. Conduct investigations into organized criminal groups. Develop evidence for eventual prosecution utilizing various investigative techniques including electronic surveillance.
