Abstract: The main aim of the Project is to develop an impeller through design optimization in order to improve the performance of a centrifugal pump. For acheiving the best design of the impeller, parametric analysis is essential which has been pursued through Taguchi technique. Blade thickness and Impeller diameter are the design parameters considered for twis work. Frequency and von-misses stress are taken as responsible parameters. The model characteristics changes due to stress. An orthogonal array has been generated varying the design parameters for analysing each model of the impeller. Pre-stressed and the responsive dynamic analysis of the Impeller with varying blade thickness and outer diameter is analyzed by FEAfor a load using Unigraphics NX software.
