PROJECT: CONSTRUCTION OF STORAGE WAREHOUSE AT STORES DEPARTMENT- 2019

POSITION: CIVIL ENGINEER (INTERN)

My responsibilities were as follows:

• Prepare the Bill of Quantities and invite various contractors to discuss the scope of work and future challenges of the project.

• Supervise the construction of the warehouse from conception to completion and adhere to the construction drawing.

• Marking the site perimeter in readiness for excavation, monitor concrete strength and concrete works for the footing and floor.

• Supervising the concrete mixing ratio.

• Ensuring that the project meets safety guidelines and emphasizing safety on site. (making sure that everyone on the construction site is in the correct safety attire at all times).

• To be a bridge between the contractors and senior management and make sure the construction process is dispute free.

• To find solutions to construction setbacks such as transportation delays of construction materials and other factors.

• Ensure that the Storage Facility met safety and design standards, the site was left clean and a smooth handover to the stores’ manager upon completion. MOPANI COPPER MINES

PROJECT: CONSTRUCTION OF REINFORCED CONCRETE SLABS AT BOOSTER PUMP STATION AND MINDOLO COMPRESSOR HOUSE - 2020

POSITION: CIVIL ENGINEER (INTERN)

My responsibilities were as follows:

• Mark out and set the perimeter boundary for the excavation works and then proceed with the compaction.

• Ensure that the formwork is correctly setup.

• Examine the steel reinforcement, concrete mix and cover before pouring.

• Ensuring that the formwork is removed correctly.

• Ensure that the construction works are up to standard and the site has been left clean upon completion.

OTHER WORKS CARRIED OUT

• Construction of a spoon drain at Nkana mine site.

• Successfully hosted 10+ site visits where I liaised and presented scopes of works to various contractors

• Provide technical advice regarding cost, construction and structural repairs to industrial and managerial personnel
