Presently working as QA/QC Engineer for First Kuwaiti Trading and Contracting Co. as sub-contractor of Petrofac International Limited. Managing a team of QC Inspectors in KOC LFHO Development Program Phase-I Project. Before joining FKTC, I worked as an Assistant Highway and Section Engineer for Dar Al-Dowailah Engineering Consultant for the Construction, Completion and Maintenance of Roads and Interchanges on the Main Access Roads to Japer Al-Ahmad City (Project RA-211). US $ 4.3 Billion Lower Fars Heavy Oil Development Program Phase-1 located in Ratqa North Kuwait is expected to bring an additional 60,000 bpd crude production. The project involves engineering, procurement and construction of Central processing Facility to treat waste water, a 24-inch 165km oil export pipeline to a tank farm at Ahmadi. Subsequent works to fully develop Lower Fars will involve steam injection and heavy oil production facilities, support complex, tank farms and a 270,000 bpd pipeline to the planned Al Zour Refinery in Southern Kuwait.

Duties and Responsibilities:

As QA/QC Engineer

Prepare and submit for approval to the Main Contractor Construction Quality Plan, Inspection and Test Plan, Quality Control Procedures, Work Method Statements, Request Approval of Materials (RAM) and submit request for approval of Lower Tier Subcontractors.

Prepare and submit Request for Clarification (RFC) regarding technical issues.

Manage NCR, DSR and Site Instruction issued by the Main Contractor and PMC.

Manage the control of RFI and how to prevent or minimize quality violations at site by conducting toll box talk to make the team pro-active.

Review WMS, RAM with reference to International and KOC standards and specifications referred in the contract.

Raise NCR for any deviations from IFC drawings, International and KOC standards and specifications referred in the contract.

Establish effective procedure on how to resolve the problem and adopt preventive measures for the re-occurrence of the same problem.

Clearing of punch list prior for the final commissioning.

Prepare and submit final documents-CRB

As Site Engineer

Monitor construction activities and ensure that all assigned scopes are carried out without any significant HSE incidents and provide support on incident investigations if any.

Resolve major and minor technical issues and liaise with Engineering Group for timely resolution of the technical issues.

Monitor site activities for potential contractual/claims problems and maintain records of site activities and check Contractor records of accuracy.

Review look ahead schedules and ensure future work / discipline interface issues are communicated and resolved.

Review drawings, construction procedures and make necessary remarks forwarded to Engineering Group for final remarks issuance to the Contractor.

Ensure contractor produces Company approved documents in a timely manner and monitor approval / compliance.

Ensure familiarity with the Contractors methods of construction, schedule and procedures, KOC, and Contractor HSE requirements procedures.

As Material Engineer

Supervise and prepared laboratory test reports.

In-charge in MPW for testing of Dynaflect and other Materials.

Coordinating with Client’s Site Engineers for approval of Concrete works and arranges Concrete from Supplier for different sites.

Arrange for testing of materials in compliance with International Specifications such as ACI,AASHTO,KSS,KOC,ASTM & BS standards

1 – Soil:

Supervision and carrying out in-situ Soil Field Density tests, Road Base materials, Proctor, C.B.R, Sieve analysis, Atterberg Limits and collection of samples from site to test in the site laboratory and submit to MPW laboratory.

2 – Asphalt:

Asphalt Plant Inspection, Quality Control like monitoring the temperature of asphalt during pavement, Sampling of loose asphalt for testing, MC 70 & Tack Coat application rate, Reflux & Centrifuge Extraction & Gradation, Core testing (Thickness, Density & Compaction) and Marshall Stability & Flow test.

3 – Aggregates:

Collection of coarse & fine aggregate samples from stockpile and Concrete & Asphalt Plants to test in the site laboratory and to submit to MPW laboratory, Sieve analysis, Sand Equivalent test, Flakiness, Elongation, Mesh content, Chemical test (Sulphate & Chloride test), Specific Gravity and Absorption tests.

4 – Concrete:

Batching Plant Inspection, Fresh Concrete Inspection like monitoring the temperature, Slump & preparing Cubes during the casting of concrete, Compressive Strength of the cubes and other Quality Control activities at site and precast yard.

5 – Thermoplastic Paint:

Supervision and carrying out thickness test of the paint & Quality Control activities at site during the course of work like Glass beads rate of application & sampling of the materials to submit to MPW Laboratory for testing.

6 – Road Marking Activities:

Supervision of Road Marking activities at site and sampling of road marking material like Type – d markers, Reflective markers and Non Reflective markers to submit to MPW Laboratory for testing.

7 – Materials Approval:

Arrange for testing of materials in compliance with Contract Specifications. Coordinating with Suppliers & Manufacturers to approve the materials. Visiting to Supplier’s Stock piles & Ware houses to control the quality of materials.

As an Assistant Highway and Section Engineer

Insures that the project is done and executed in accordance with criteria as stipulated in the approved plan and design standard and specification.

Reviews design drawing and shop drawings and verify if they are executed according to plan in the actual construction.

Coordinating with all senior engineers of respective departments from time to time regarding implementation and execution of works and QC instructions and guidelines.

Coordinate with the general contractor and subcontractors with regards to execution, schedule of works and controls of all related works.

As Civil and Bridge Inspector

Insures that the project is done and executed in accordance with criteria as stipulated in the approved plan and design standard and specification.

Supervised and check all works and insures that all materials incorporated in the project passed the requirements as specified in the AASTHO, ACI, ASTM and structural code and manuals for roads and bridges.

Reviews design drawing and shop drawings and verify if they are executed according to plan in the actual construction.

Insures that approved construction methodology, safety and discipline is being undertaken during execution of the works, assist the senior bridge engineer / Structural engineers for review shop drawings and method of statement for approval.
