Responsibilities:

● Support the selection process of CfW beneficiaries (supervisors and skilled/ unskilled workers) and undertake gender sensitive community outreach in coordination with the contractor/s.

● Monitor the contractor/s in managing the CfW beneficiaries including training, compliance with the SOP), labour standards, gender sensitive practices etc.

● Documenting the CfW beneficiaries information, selection lists, attendance sheets, work permits, contracts and identification documents and Provide support in operational and administrative issues in relation to the CfW beneficiaries such as facilitating between contractor/s and relevant authorities in securing CfW work permits.

● Monitoring and overseeing the implementation of health and safety plans, ESMP and reporting any violations.

● Provide input for Communication and Reporting and Providing data for the monitoring and reporting purposes in addition to Provide pictures from the field for reporting and communication purposes.

● Contribute to the GoalZero approach by implementing the actions relevant to their role, as indicated in the UNOPS Health and Safety Improvement Plan (HSIP) plan, taking into consideration gender-specific actions as relevant.

Position: Water and sanitation Monitor

Azraq & Za'atri Refugees Camps, Jordan

(Jun. 2017- Sep 2018)

Responsibilities:

● Monitor and follow-up all project activities.

● Collect data on a regular basis by using different methods such as surveys as well as collect and document beneficiaries’ feedback about the projects' services to measure achievement against the performance indicators.

● implement surveys and follow-up on monitoring and evaluation exercises for various initiatives in the camps

● Data entry and data archiving for all project documents and its activities to finalize them as mid-term and final-term reports.

● Perform water quality tests on the water points at Camps to ensure that the quality of water meets UN standards and report any irregularities.

● Perform daily inspection on the wastewater and solid waste trucks to insure all safety requirements are met.

● Observe and report any spillages, environmental issues or possible contamination sources arising from dislodging and discharging activities.

● Observe and record and report any damage or faults of water tanks, pipeline and other water supply structures in the camp.

● Conduct analysis on the condition of water, dislodging and solid waste trucks to identify any technical issue that might affect the quality of the respective WASH service provided to the refugees’ community.

● Monitor IBVs/ CFW performance and follow the SOP for the rotation, payment, any matters related to volunteering activities, report on metrics and resolve any issues or conflicts.

● Provide IBVs/ CFW needed training to recognize high performance and reward accomplishments.

● Follow up and respond to desludging/water supply operational issues to ensure the smooth implementation of UNICEF’s activities in Zaatari/Azraq Camps.

● Liaise with aid agencies and desludging contractors to coordinate desludging activities on the field level.

● Maintain a database of the water quantities distributed to the camp community showing daily, monthly and yearly quantities as well as the location (districts) of the water distribution.

Position: WASH Engineer

Azraq Refugees Camp, Jordan

Responsibilities:

● Monitor and follow-up all project activities during the implementation phase on a daily basis.

● Prepare progress report(s) on a regular basis and share with the reporting officer.

● Identify and implement WASH activities which are appropriate and comprehensive for the target population.

● Prepare technical materials including drawings, BOQ, specifications for water supply infrastructure (if needed).

● Review water network designs, drawings and bill of quantities(BOQs).

● Implement and monitor water distribution systems including pipe trenching, laying, pressure testing, access for cleaning/repair (incl. air/scour valves), pumping, power supply and water quality monitoring.

● Supervise IBVs/ CFW on a daily basis and provide instructions, training and resolve any issues related to them.

● Investigate damage to water supply infrastructure and assess asset condition and capacity.

● Liaising with various bodies and individuals, including local authorities (SRAD), UNHCR, SDC, contractors, residents and others.

● Certify the work done as per design and technical specifications for payment to the contractor.

● Proactively review the contractor plans for construction and identify potential issues (if any).

● Participate in or facilitate Water, Sanitation & Hygiene (WASH) coordination meetings.
