Working as a Housekeeping Aide at the SFVA, I am responsible for maintaining the integrity of the hospital and my coverage of the hospital is the lower level of Building 200. My location encompasses the busiest area of the hospital and is frequented by patients, family members, and staff alike. I am responsible for the cleanliness and janitorial supplies for the modules, clinics, pharmacy, travel, union representation, restrooms, and the canteen. I have won a “superstar” award for my work ethic and take pride in working for the veterans. I work well independently or as a team member on any project assigned. This position performs a variety of tasks involving the minor maintenance and repair of buildings, grounds, and exterior structures, related fixtures and utilities. We preform minor repairs on ductwork. Paints material installed, and a result of repair work, will do touchup painting on interior and exterior surfaces. Under the guidance of a higher- grade employee may be required to perform minor repair and replacement of outlets, switches, sockets, starters and ballasts on fluorescent fixtures. Replace covers on outlet boxes. Cleans and oils electric motors, checking conditions of bearings, connections, and insulation. Replace and or repair faucets, flush valves, and diaphragms. Will also clear clogged drains and traps. Replace defective pipes, fittings, and connections. Repair and replace stream traps and radiator valves.

I am also computer literate, familiar with Vista, CPRS, and VATAS. I can type 40 WPM and accustom to answering several incoming phone lines. I can operate numerous copiers, fax machines, and scanners.

JUNE 2017- JULY 2018

MAIL HANDLER ASSOCIATE, us postal service, richmond, ca

Acting as a 204B Supervisor responsible for informing employees of updates to coding and handling of various pieces of mail, I would conduct meetings that involved thirteen employees in attendance to keep them advised of changes in procedures when necessary. Conducted counts of outgoing mail on a daily-basis and reported via spreadsheets the totals to business service. Answered telephone calls interacted closely with other staff in the front office and in the mail room.

As a supply technician I was responsible for stocking all Medical products requested and used by the Labor and Delivery unit at Alta Bates Hospital. The items were placed into an Omni Cell, which uses a code to identify the item. I was able to accommodate increased numbers of items used and ordered, by organizing each item for its size and location of similar stock. I exceeded the requirements of the unit, and the hospital. I would ensure stock taken from the Omni Cell was checked for an expiration date and rotated ongoing. I also contacted vendors and suppliers to re-order stock. We would receive the items at the warehouse and stock them in house prior to making rounds to the units for delivery.
