2021- To Date: Currently undertaking an MSc in Molecular biology and Bioinformatics at Jomo Kenyatta University of Agriculture and Technology, Juja Kenya. 2015 – 2019: Obtained a second class upper division undergraduate certificate in Bachelor of Science with IT at Maseno University, Kisumu.
2010-2014: Obtained a secondary education certificate at Anestar precious high school, Nakuru and attained grade B.
PROFESSIONAL EXPERIENCE
October 2020- To date
Research assistant in a Schistosomiasis control programme at the Institute of Primate Research involving development of a field based metallo-immunosensor to detect schistosomiasis (Cercarial Antigens) in water.
May 2020- December 2020: Institute of Primate Research Molecular testing of SARS-COV 2 Virus.
Duties
Collection of nasopharyngeal and oral pharyngeal swabs
Receiving covid 19 samples from collection sites, Barcoding, Data entry and bio banking of covid-19 samples
Isolation of RNA from swab samples using DAAN and RADI Kits.
Performing RT-PCR on Covid-19 samples using Quant Studio5, Rotor Gene-Q and Q- tower PCR analyzers.
Generation and processing of results from Covid-19 samples. December 2019 - March 2020:
Research assistant in a household survey involving the study of ambient air quality associated respiratory outcomes among younger children and cause for specific hospitalization and mortality in Nairobi County conducted with Eastern Africa global environmental and occupational health hub in partnership with university of Nairobi. Duties:
Collect and participate actively in data management process including validation to ensure quality data collection this included measuring children breathing capacity using a spirometer, recording their heights and weights for the case of data collection.
Conduct interviews and administer questionnaires using the RedCap app to households within the stipulated area
Contact households to schedule and plan for administration of the household questionnaires.
Answer questions respondents may ask before or during the course of data collection

2. Participated in a diagnostics talk on how to assess body fluid detections for key endocrine organs function on the 3rd of September 2019 3.
