PROFESSIONAL SUMMARY

Recently worked on a water supply project that seeks to supply water for the residents of Mathira constituency in Nyeri County (Sagana River Restoration Project). The project’s scope includes the construction of two cascading earth fill embankment dams of a 20 m core-trench height, a reinforced concrete balancing tank of up to 2500m 3

capacity.

Reinforced masonry water distribution tanks (225m

3

) and pipeline of varying sizes

(280mm, 225mm, 160mm, 110mm) and various materials such as HDPE, UPVC and Steel pipes and the construction of an Intake across Sagana River. Previously been involved in a customer connections sewer project in Nyeri as a Site Engineer. The responsibilities accorded to me include: supervising the construction works including pipe laying, timely delivery of assignments, carrying out measured works. On an earlier date, I was involved in a sewer line extension project in Nyeri as well with Lujo Consulting Engineers as a Site supervisor. I have also worked in structural projects under the supervision of the consulting engineers. I assisted in the interpretation of drawings, carrying out material testing exercises and also did structural design works. I have skills on preparing structural designs, structural drawings with AutoCAD, architectural drawings with ArchiCAD, sewer line drawings with CIVIL 3D. I have strong work ethics, great inter-personal skills and keen eye for detail as well as strong communication skills.

EDUCATIONHISTORY.

January 2020 to Feb 2021: Site Engineer with Machine Center Limited Worked on the Sagana River Restoration project. The project involves construction of a water supply line with pipes of different sizes with a total pipe coverage of about 40 kilometers. Project also covers the construction of two cascading earth fill embankment dams covering a total area of 100 ha. Project also involves construction of 6 No. masonry water distribution tanks each having a capacity of 225m3 capacity each and as well as a reinforced concrete tank of 2500m3 capacity each.

Supervising construction of the reinforced concrete tank with a capacity of 2500m3 as well masonry Water Distribution tanks.

August 2019 to November 2019: Site Engineer at GEOEMS Technologies LTD. Worked as a Site Engineer on a Sewer Customer Connections project for the residents of King'ong'o area in Nyeri .Project involved connecting customers; commercial/institutions as well as private dwellings to the main sewer line. Also served as a Site Engineer during the construction of a Decentralized Treatment Facility for Narumoro Water and Sanitation Services Company (NARUWASCO). The project funded by the water sector trust fund under the Basic Sanitation for the Urban Poor

(BSUP) programme aimed at providing sewer treatment services for the residents of Narumoro town

Duties and Responsibilities;

Organize daily and weekly duties for all the staff including splitting them into groups. May 2019 – July 2019: Research Assistant at Sanergy Limited for IHE DELFT University research on eSOS smart toilets.

eSOS smart toilets are high-tech solar powered toilets that were brought in to Kenya as a pilot project for a study on their effectiveness. The toilets were tested in the Mukuru Kwa Reuben informal settlements. The project was funded by the Bill and Melinda Gates foundation and IHE DELFT University partnered with Sanergy as their field testing partners.

August 2018- October 2018: Site Supervisor at Lujo Consulting Engineers Worked as a site supervisor during the construction of the main sewer line for the residents of Skuta / Ruring'u in Nyeri. During the time when I worked here I gained skills in supervision of construction works especially concrete whilst maintaining standards. Maintaining quality of materials was also key on the skills gained as well as preparing accurate reports. I was also acquainted in preparing sewer profile drawings with software such as civil 3D.

May 2018 – July 2018: Intern at Nyeri Water and Sewerage Company (NYEWASCO) While working as an Intern at NYEWASCO I was engaged in their key activities at their raw water treatment facility as well as their waste water treatment facility. Whilst there, I garnered knowledge in various raw water treatment processes like coagulation, backwashing, alum injection, chlorination, filtration as well carrying quality control tests such as Jar Test and Residue Chlorine tests. At the waste water treatment facility I was acquainted with the sills of carrying out conventional waste water treatment process. June 2017- September 2017: Intern at Dedan Kimathi University of Technology

Worked with the Projects Department to put up a proposed multi-purpose hall and Resource center phase 3 within Dedan Kimathi University of Technology main Campus Nyeri. The particular development required that a modern all-purpose hall is set up for use by the client as an entertainment hall, conference hall as well as a lecture space and indoors games arena.

Whilst working there I was able to deliver detailed material testing reports, weekly and daily reports as well as keeping equipment maintenance schedule records. My structural design skills using Prokon design software were improved under the guidance of the Project Engineer. I assisted in interpreting technical drawings as well carrying out setting out exercises.

January 2017-March 2017: Worked at Blue Valley Enterprises Ltd Worked as an assistant to the site agent on a project that involved the construction of a new dormitory block in Gathirimu Girls. While on this project I was tasked with the responsibility of handling setting out, material testing as well as assisting to interpret technical drawings. I also grew my interpersonal skills while interacting with fellow workers.

October 2015- February 2016: Worked at Blue Valley Enterprises Ltd Worked under an apprenticeship program on a structural project involving the construction of residential houses. Construction of residential flats, the residential flats located in a fast growing area of Thindigua along Kiambu road. I managed to deliver finishing works

(carpentry and joinery, plaster finishes, roofing and steel fixing) under the guidance of the site agent all while working in conjunction with the site skilled laborers. May 2015 – September 2015: Workshop Practice.
