SUMMARY OF QUALIFICATIONS
Mechanical Engineer with four years of experience in 3D-modeling using Siemens NX and Solidworks, 3D printing, fixture design, and prototyping.
EDUCATION
Bachelor of Science University of Memphis Spring 2018 GPA 3.95
Major: Mechanical Engineering
Junior Research Project AUGUST 2016 – MAY 2017
Contributed to the development of a hydrokinetic energy harvesting machine by using Siemens NX to design a laboratory apparatus specialized for collecting experimental data with controlled boundary conditions. The goal of this project was to confirm theoretical results produced by Computation Fluid Dynamics Software.
Senior Design Project AUGUST 2017 – MAY 2018
Utilized 3D modeling and 3D printing skills to design a handheld fixture for packaging a gravity fed venturi pump that disperses an antibacterial fluid as an aerosol to be applied to medical devices.
WORK EXPERIENCE
Tool and Die Engineer Carrier Corporation May 2018 - Present
Utilize 3D modeling skills to design and provide drawings for die tooling, custom die blocks, discontinued equipment parts, prototype project parts, brazing fixtures, specialized carts for kitting processes, machine guarding, and emergency safety projects such as pinch point guarding or handheld tools that prevent repetitive motion injuries.
Create Solidworks Assemblies of prototype automation improvements with examples such as a coil manipulator, fin cart elevator, ABB/Fanuc/Shunk robot arm fixture, and fan blade grommet fixture.
Document and create standard work procedures for maintenance and repairs on form dies, cam pierce dies, trim dies, and specialty dies such as the louver die, fin die, and control panel die.
Operate and Program Lincoln Electric CNC Plasma Cutter and MakerBot 3D printer.
Supervise and collaborate with 12 unionized journeyman tool and die makers to complete project deadlines, fabricate parts, and complete die maintenance and repairs.
Distinguish and diagnose problems with the die, press, or material that cause parts to fail quality inspection. This includes a broken punch/insert inside the die, leaking nitrogen manifold system, nitrogen gas spring failure, bent leader pin or damaged bushing, broken bolts/dowel pins, material hardness, material lubrication, material thickness, material camber, and material alignment issues.
Order and maintain a stocked inventory of die maintenance parts, project parts, and tooling for the mills, lathes, and grinders
Apply knowledge of material science to choose appropriate material for prototype development: tool steel, cold rolled steel, hot rolled steel, aluminum, polyurethane, and UHMW.
Communicate with leadership team on continuous improvement strategies to reduce downtime and increase production efficiency, and work together with HR generalists to resolve employee conflicts.
Manufacturing Engineering Intern Onyx Medical May 2017 – August 2017
Operated CNC mill, CNC grinder, manual mill, manual lathe, and wire EDM (Drill) to produce medical screws, drill bits, and k-wires.
Designed pressurized sand filtration system for electropolishing wastewater, provided an energy mapping and consumption assessment for facility, and constructed 3D models for various projects.
Resident Advisor University of Memphis August 2015 – May 2016
Exhibited leadership by serving as a role model, performing peer mediation, and taking measures to assist with the growth and development of students in the residence halls (LLC North 3rd Floor).
Provided weekly programs over topics such as effective study habits, reducing stress, and optimizing time management resources.
Prepared incident reports and administered safety, maintenance, and wellness checks.
Lifeguard City of Bartlett July 2013 – August 2016
Displayed work ethic through daily custodial duties, management of water chemical levels, equipment maintenance, and patron surveillance.
Expanded interpersonal skills by training new lifeguards, assisting patrons with special needs or disabilities, and conducting sales for splash pad access.
