Knowledge sharing and capacity building of the stakeholders during survey and through class room interaction was indeed value addition to underserved government sector.

Part of team to create sustainable educational institutions which addresses environmental concerns viz. pollution abatement, resources management, energy security, clean energy with low cost investment for longer durability with parallel revenue generation to carry out minimum maintenance while availing financial benefits. Installation of solar panels at today’s cost would be productive for minimum of next 15 years, ensuring energy security without any direct/ indirect emissions during its use. Execution of this project in concurrence with BESCOM project plan and Jawaharlal National Solar Mission has helped under-served government schools in availing financial earnings with a minimum costing on solar system maintenance. Also, zero emissions and energy security helped in sustainable operation of schools

During the process of implementation of Sustainable school project, team could identify scope and strategies to further strengthen the existing implementation procedure and policy towards facilitating wider implementation solar project in convenience

Being involved in Energy audit, had an active role in contributing for better Environmental Management in assessing production life cycle, energy consumption sources & patterns and externalities and further arriving at methods, practices and procedures towards enhancing the productive with minimum environmental damage & energy consumption and reduced carbon footprint

All the project activities carried out, supported beneficiaries with Sustainability report offering means & ways to achieve intended goals following eco-friendly practices and sustaining natural environment and resources without any damage and also looking for scope to contribute for social upliftment and community development.

Being in a service based segment, had an opportunity to carry out community study on Drinking water management, identifying water service shortcomings and laying down needed measures with most valued team.

Involved in extensive community based solid waste management programs at Municipality level strengthening the collection and disposal system.

Had an opportunity to enhance the overall efficiency of Effluent Treatment Plant at Biocon biopharmaceutical industry through extensive research at laboratory and pilot model, before up-scaling to the Treatment Plant with support of highly experienced and dedicated research team.

2)Sustainable Educational Institutions, SRTPV Installation of Capacity 478 KW in Phase 1, 2 & 3 @ Bangalore:

Develop sustainable energy system in the school, focusing on issues of energy conservation.

Prepare site specific need assessment report in concern to energy sources and consumption patterns

Facilitate and implement 5, 10, 15, 20 kW solar roof top facilities to education institutions based on their requirement.

Monitoring implementation of Construction and Electrical Safety as per Regulation 32 of CEA regulation, 2010 during the Installation and commission of the project

Bring behavioural change among the school community on efficient use of energy.

Preparation the quarterly reports for each phase and sustainability report for beneficiaries.

3)Preparation of Investment Grade Energy Audit (IGEA) Reports for Public Water Works and Sewerage Systems in the city of Cluster-3/KA (Bhadravathi, Chikkamagalur and Hassan), Karnataka": To conduct the energy audit of the city public water works and sewerage systems at Bhadravathi, Chikkamagalur and Hassan. Establishing baseline parameters such as operating hours, power consumption, operating head, operating flow, voltage, frequency, power factor, current, etc. to be fixed at the time of preparation of IGEA. To achieve the objectives, we has to conduct a base line study, preparation of a detailed feasibility study including financial model and appropriate structure for the Project, detailed Scope of work, R&M Requirements, Reduction in O&M costs, Estimated Project cost, Technical specifications, performance parameters, Facilities required e.g., infrastructure, estimated revenue stream, PPP structure, execution plan.

4)MEA of Star Paper Mills Limited, Saharanpur: Mandatory energy audit covering Steam, Air Compressors, R & AC, Paper machines, CPP and waste water treatment & water distribution. Environmental management for a given industry is initiated at 2 stages with preliminary audit and detailed audit. During the preliminary audit section wise energy consumption pattern, generation source is determined, scope for saving is estimated, immediate savings and improvements are suggested. Further during the detailed assessment, energy consumption from its source to each section with design rated parameters and operating parameters of all the major equipment’s are analysed. Detailed report would consist of all the above energy saving measures, energy saving equipment replacement; energy management aspect will be suggested.

Monitoring and Facilitation employees Safety through Hazard Identification & Risk Assessment as per OHSAS 18001:2007 at project sites with special focus on harmful flue gas, chemical over flow, Effluent handling.

5)Comprehensive Energy Audit of MSPL Limited, Koppal: The study would focus on improving energy usage efficiency by establishing energy consumption norms and standards under gate-to-gate concept, collection of technical information like specification of major equipment along with their operating parameters of the sub-systems so as to find out the deviations from the design data and also to identify the energy saving potentials/opportunities at various equipment and processes in the whole plant. The analyses would include simple payback calculations where investments are required to be made to implement recommendations, to establish their economic viability.

6)Vidyut Jagruthi Yojana: A TERI- Bangalore Electricity Supply Company (BESCOM) initiative program of engaging 100 educational institutions in energy conservation program towards achieving a desirable energy savings following to the awareness programs, capacity building, Knowledge workshops for students, one to one sessions, conducting competitions and Energy Audit.

7)IEC Campaign on the segregation of solid wastes @ Udupi: Work involves door to door campaigning on segregation of wastes in the selected wards in Udupi district.

8)Prudence check of project works carried by electrical utilities-

Work involves pre & post performance evaluation of project works carried out by electrical utilities and to check if the implemented projects are meeting the specified objectives in Karnataka.

9)Demand side Management Action Plan development in collaboration with MESCOM and Karnataka electricity Regulatory Commission: The study comprises two parts (1) Preparation of DSM Action plan and (2) Facilitation support for implementing two high priority DSM interventions. In order to devise DSM interventions for the utility, load research forms the starting point. Load research study assists the DSM activities through provision of supporting data of consumer load profiles, which are useful in developing and analysing DSM plans. These DSM plans enable the utility to manage the system loads by motivating consumers to vary the consumption so as to reduce system peak and increase the off peak usage of energy. In view of this, TERI is preparing the DSM Action Plan for Karnataka focusing on the licensed area of Mangalore Electricity Supply Company (MESCOM) based on load research study, with the overall objective of introducing DSM activities. The study comprises two parts: (1) preparation of DSM action plan; and (2) facilitation support for implementing two high priority DSM interventions.

10)Work of Need Assessment for up-gradation of Pump House in Head Works of CWSS I, II and III stage stations, T.K. Halli, Tataguni and Harohalli: As global urbanization continues, municipal water utilities have the complete task of cost-effectively providing water to keep cities to function. One of the estimates feels that as water provider 50 percent of the world’s population is fed through municipal water utilities and plays vital role in managing water, which is often a scarce resource. Limited energy resources and sparse fresh water supplies make water delivery even more challenging. The Water supply system in Bangalore is at a head of 500 mtrs and has to be transmitted to a distance of nearly 90 kms using booster stations (Head Works).

11)BESCOM DSM Industry and Agriculture Survey: To conduct DSM action plan based on load research for the implementation of category wise DSM intervention and also to conduct post implementation analysis. Load research has to be carried out to identify the targeted customer segment or segmentation end user to DSM programs and build the necessary database.
