CV April ****
Michele Bedin, PhD
I am an enthusiastic and experienced chemist with 11 years training in state-of the-art laboratories. I recently concluded my PhD education in inorganic-bioinorganic chemistry although I am a synthetic organic chemist by training.
I do not hesitate to take responsibility and thanks to my analytical thinking I am a good problem solver.
I am a quick learner, and I appreciate the critical- constructive discussion with my supervisors.
I personally think that a failure is a different way to learn. I enjoy being surrounded by people from all over the world and I value all my previous experiences, where I could learn and understand the different dynamics in each lab I joined, and where I bonded and interacted with awesome colleagues whose friendship I still treasure after many years.
I am currently based in San Francisco ready for new challenges. Expert in:
Inorganic Chemistry, Homogeneous Catalysis/Heterogeneous Catalysis
Organic chemistry and Catalysis, Synthesis under inert condition, Microwave synthesis
cGMP, GDP, and RA
LC-Ms, MS, HPLC-Ms, HPLC, Mössbauer, Electrochemistry, Uv-Vis, NMR, EPR, GC, GC-MS
I was able to build a custom-made crystallizer
Interests:
Inorganic chemistry, catalysis, protein formulation, organic synthesis, small molecule synthesis, bioinorganic chemistry, scale up production. CAREER GOAL
Having finished my PhD in Chemistry, and after a short post doc my ambition is to leave the comfort zone pursue a career within the chemical industry. I have a small experience in industry where I am very grateful, that I left for improve my skill and discover new environments. My immediate goal is to secure a position as Environmental Chemist. My aspiration is to find a challenging work place where I can acquire new skills and growing professionally and personally. I hope to get the opportunity to use my previous experience as synthetic chemist in small molecule, passion for science, and professionalism to contribute to the develop of new small molecules and process for the chemistry of tomorrow. adlvab@r.postjobfree.com

"Michele does his absolute best. He is
able to learn new techniques, and is a
'doer' who simply gets the work done with
a smile"
Prof. Mate Erdelyi - Uppsala University BMC
"Michele was always very dedicated to his project and developed over time an independence to take the project forward on his own"

When I was a kid I took part of the Italian scout association of the Boy Scout till Rover. I liked to take a break from the technology and going outside into the forest and stay in front of a wooden fire and socialize, learn how to orientate and a lot of manual skill. Growing older, I found a continuation of the scouting experience in the “Civil Protection Department” where I volunteered for many years helping my community during social events as well as in case of emergency. Indeed, I helped during several emergencies in my region, mainly flooding due to heavy rains, and I volunteered to go to Italy’s central regions during the earthquake emergency in Aquila in 2009.
PERSONAL
I spend my free time doing sports that free my mind and strengthen my body, like running, swimming and cycling. I have recently started following triathlon training, which proves to be empowering and challenging. I also enjoy preparing bread and some delicious typical Italian cakes with sourdough. Other than that, I love spending time with my family and friends. I rarely miss a good party or gathering, and I love a good adventure in particular in the nature. PUBLICATIONS
