Description: To assess Indoor Air Quality in cottage industries in Madurai. IAQ is known to affect the health, comfort and well-being of building occupants. Poor IAQ has been linked to sick building syndrome, reduced productivity and impaired learning in schools. Common Indoor air pollutants includes CO, CO2, Temperature, Radon, VOC, NO2 and Lead. It is also due to various types of fuels used in cottage industries, Indoor Air Quality is degraded by the pollutants produced by the combustion of those fuels and thus affecting the workers of that industries and the local residents in that place. This assessment includes Conceptual Study, Literature Survey, Survey of cottage industries in Madurai, Preparation of Questionnaire Survey, Labour Health Improvement, Adoption of alternate fuel, Increase in Production Efficiency, Reduce emission of Pollutants
Project: REDUCTION OF DRAINAGE OVERFLOW SYSTEM Team size: 3 Objective: The main objective is to study about the most economical method to reduce the overflow of drainage during rainy season of Madurai.
Description: This project consist of site selection, specification of a area, type of sewer used, structural design like underground maps, drawings and inflow reduction, a practice designed to minimize the volume of storm water runoff that enters a combined sewer system(CSS). Inflow reduction can result in a lower combined sewer overflow discharge volume and may reduce the number of combined sewer overflows.
