EXPERIENCE
Management training at the Templeton School of Management Studies in Oxford, England 1990. Studied with the Senior Fellow in Finance, and wrote research papers on financial products, markets and changes within the investment industry.
Merrill Lynch Professional Development Program. 1991 to 1994. Managed 200 investment accounts, Series 65, 7, and sales training at Princeton headquarters.
More than 25 years experience working for 11 different FINRA firms. Experience in management, sales training, compliance, working with high net worth clients, and back office. Passed the Series 24 in 2012 and the Series 53 in 2014.
Excellent leadership skills. Experience coaching sales teams, motivating production, goal setting and accomplishment. In 1982 I worked at the Securities and Exchange Commission’s Broker/Dealer Division in Washington DC, and also with the US Senate Banking Committee, analyzing rules and regulations affecting the industry.
Graduate Study and work at the University of Chicago from 1983 to 1986. While pursuing graduate study in Public Policy, I prepared research papers and worked for the Business School’s Center for Research in Securities Prices. Managing data and preparing reports, I attended lectures and conferences sponsored by institutional investors. In addition, I worked on the trading floors of the Chicago options and futures markets. FINRA Arbitrator, Number A57447, from 2009 to present. Participated in arbitration matters as an industry representative, hearing and deciding cases involving FINRA rules and investment practices. Worked for the Investors Business Daily Newspaper in 2008. Learned to use the investment tools of CANSLIM and other statistics and data for investment analysis. Previous experience with Bloomberg and other trading systems used for portfolio management, investment selection, monitoring and reporting. Excellent sales and motivational skills. B.A in Public Administration from the University of Southern California with honors in 1982. Full academic scholarship from the School of Public Administration. Candidate for the Rhodes Scholarship. Set the Utah state record in track for the high hurdles and received a full ride athletic scholarship to the University of Utah from 1976 to 1979.
