JOB DESCRIPTION:

Ensuring high quality nursing care to patients

attending Endoscopy Unit in accordance to Hospital Policies and Procedures.

Receive the patient and provide pre and post endoscopy procedure care.

Do initial nursing assessment / care plan as per patient need.

Adheres to all approved policies and procedure, as per CBAHI and JCIA standard.

Adhere to endoscopy unit protocols and guidelines.

Demonstrate sense of flexibility in regards to duty hours, allocation, on call, and extra duty.

Provides patient and family education as per the needs.

Participates in education and training data collection, quality improvement activities, and adhering to infection control policies and procedure.

Monitors patient progress and reports any unusual event to the charge nurse / team leader.

Activates and participates in all types of code if necessary.

Acts as a team leader during shifts as per assignment.

Performing nursing procedures as per endoscopy unit scope of service which included but not limited to :

- Pre, Intra, Post Endoscopy assessment and nursing care

- Preparation, cleaning, disinfection and sterilization of endoscopes according to policy and procedure

- Preparation of necessary equipment / supplies / medications needed for specific Endoscopic procedures
