Professional Experience

Ensol Esp: CFD Engineer July 2018 – Oct 2020

CFD Analysis of Wet Well Sewerage Treatment Plant

Client: ENOIA

Objective: To obtain the probable location of stagnation, evaluate the adverse hydraulic conditions that can affect the pump performance, the flow distribution with in approach pipings.

Contributions: For the given model, numerical analysis is performed to observe the formation of cavitation, sub surface and free surface vortices, flow distributions within approach pipings.

Software: FLUENT 19.0, ANSYS Workbench

CFD Analysis of Sea Water intake

Objective: To assess the geometry of the intake system for any potential adverse hydraulic conditions which negatively affects the pump performance.

Contributions: Simulated the typical operating scenarios and analysed the typical flow behaviors which includes general flow pattern, streamlines, velocity profiles, swirl angles, vortex propagation, submerged vortex propagation.

Software: FLUENT 19.0, ANSYS Workbench

CFD Analysis of Wet Crude Storage Tank

Objective: The objective of the CFD simulation is to design the tank internals such that the gravity separation of oil and water is ensured.

Contributions: The flow characteristics of gravity-based separation between oil and water are simulated. The quality of oil collected from the oil outlet collector is determined. The stratification layer height and its properties are obtained.

Software: FLUENT 19.0, ANSYS Workbench

CFD ANALYSIS OF EFFLUENT WATER TANK

Objective: The main objective of the simulation is to verify and confirm the tank size and also to design the tank internals so that the oil-in-water in the outlet effluent water is within the prescribed limits.

Contributions: The flow characteristics of gravity-based separation between oil and water were simulated. From the simulations, oil collected in the fixed oil skimmer and residual oil at outlet is quantified and optimum design for the fixed oil skimmer is suggested.

Software: FLUENT 19.0, ANSYS Workbench

Heat Loss Study in Supports of Pipe Carrying Steam

Objective: Accounting for the thermal energy loss in supports.

Contributions: The thermal energy loss in supports is calculated which are exposed environment, with given material of insulation, before and after insulation of supports of pipes.

Software: ANSYS Workbench 17.2, FLUENT, Steady State Thermal

Heat Loss Study in Flanges of Pipe Carrying Steam

Objective: Accounting the thermal energy loss in flanges.

Contributions: Evaluated the performance of new insulation material engineered by ASPEN industries. Located thermal hot points in flanges and studied thermal energy loss from the flanges.

Software: ANSYS Workbench 17.2, FLUENT, Steady State Thermal

Design and Optimisation of Blades

Client: ENERG TEKH

Objective: To optimize the given vane design.

Contribution: Flow studies with micro tune and fine tune vanes and proposed a new design based on the study. Flow Studies were conducted based on the proposed design. Flow studies were conducted in rectangular duct with different guide vanes.

Software: FLUENT 18.2, ANSYS Workbench.

Numerical Analysis on Concentric tube Heat Exchanger

Objective: To study the heat transfer characteristics in the given heat exchanger for various insulation materials.

Contributions: The temperature distribution was studied for different insulation materials and thickness for a given mass flow rate and heat transfer fluid.

Software: FLUENT 18.2, ANSYS Workbench.
