Responsible for review and approval of supplier documents such as QAP, WPS, PQR, WPQ, NDT procedures, Heat treatment procedures and various testing procedures with reference to project specification / ASME / IBR.

Review of material & consumables certificates, supplier’s internal inspection report, heat treatment chart, Interpretation of NDT / destructive test results and furnish technical recommendation for critical equipment.

Interacting with customer and supplier on quality issues and resolution, if any problems within process and product acceptance.

Perform vendor / supplier assessment audit for new vendor and surveillance audit for existing vendor / supplier.

CONTROL

ACTIVITIES

Stage wise shop floor inspection of boiler pressure parts like steam drum, economizer coils, waterwall panels, headers, super-heater coils, dearator and storage tank, and piping, etc. as per requirement of IBR, ASME SEC I & ASME B 31.1 at vendor premises

o Inspection of raw material for pressure parts, includes identification, correlation, verification of stamping and review of MTC. o Perform fit-up & forming inspection.

o Perform welding inspection before & after heat treatment. o Interpretation of NDT results and review of heat treatment chat. o Inspection of mock-up assembly for waterwall panels & coils. o Witness the hydro and final dimensional inspection, technical recommended for further process.

Inspection of Centrifugal Pumps as per HIS / ISO standards, includes witnessing mechanical run test, performance test, string test of pumps, review of dossier as per QAP and furnish technical recommendation.

Inspection of rotating equipment such as fan, gear box and turbine as per project specification, includes witnessing performance test & strip test and furnish technical recommendation.

Witness the valve inspection as per IBR, ASME B-16.34 & API 598.

Inspection of heavy structural item, includes witnessing of trail assembly, NDE, dimensional confirmation, painting inspection and review of dossier as per the QAP / AWS D1.1 at supplier’s premises.

Inspection of tanks, vessels, equipment and structural members for ESP, water treatment package, material handling system and distillery packages etc.

Expedite the pressure parts equipment and structural member manufacturing at vendor's work for various packages.

Engaged in field quality activities at construction site

Receipt, stage & alignment inspection for pressure parts, structural member and rotating equipment as per FQAP / project specification.

Verification of alignments for rotating equipment.

Interpretation of NDT results and review of heat treatment chart

Witnessing hydro test for boiler.

Witnessing leak test for tanks and vessels.

Review & approval of protocols.

Co-ordinated with QC team for inspection activities and monitoring the progress.

Support to pre-commissioning activities includes trial run of rotating equipment, refractory dry-out, alkali boil-out, steam blowing and smoke test, etc

Witness WPS/PQR & WPQ for SMAW, GTAW, FCAW, and GMAW process for different material like carbon steel & low alloy steel (P4, P5A & 15E) as per ASME SEC IX at construction site.

Perform field quality audit and prepare punch list at construction site for boiler package, turbine package, piping package, water treatment package, mat

Conducting and participating site meeting to resolve quality related issues.

Perform thickness survey for water wall panels, coils, headers and drum during retrofit / revamping.
