Phone: 704-***-**** Email: ****************@*****.*** Highly analytical, detail oriented Mechanical Engineer with 7 years’ work experience. Currently a Test and Prototype Engineer for aerospace and weapons projects at a research and development focused engineering company. Formerly a US Army Explosive Ordnance Disposal (EOD) Officer, responsible for overseeing operations to analyze and mitigate explosive hazards. Honorably Discharged as a Captain after 4 years of service. Experience in managing a wide range of projects, both broad and detail-oriented, with teams ranging just a handful to over 75 people. My military service ingrained in me the importance of process development and effective communication for mission success. My current role allows me to apply and develop these skills, along with the technical engineering aptitude developed through my degree, as I manage projects to design and test advanced prototypes under fast paced project timelines. Technical skills and personal experience include:
Test Design and Execution End-to-End Prototype Development Design for Manufacturing
Technical Problem Solving Engineering Project Management Active Top-Secret Clearance EDUCATION BACKGROUND
BS, Mechanical Engineering. Duke University, Durham, NC (2013)
Engineering Courses including “Energy Efficiency in Building,” “Failure Analysis and Prevention,” “Structural Properties of Solids,” “Mechanics of Solids,” and “Analysis for Design.”
Three semesters of AutoCAD Drafting Courses and extensive experience modeling and testing in SOLIDWORKS WORK EXPERIENCE
Test and Prototype Engineer, Corvid Technologies, Mooresville, NC December 2017 – Present Responsible for prototype development and testing across a variety of DoD projects. Directly involved in the complete prototype lifecycle, including design and manufacturing, prototype assembly and QA, and test design and execution. Delegate responsibilities across a small team of engineers to ensure project deliverables are to standard and on schedule.
Worked with and led teams of 3 to 12 engineers through development and testing on DoD projects including missile warhead design, advanced sensor technology development, and emerging manufacturing techniques.
Operate and oversee in house testing and test equipment. Use high speed video, flash X-ray systems, and data collection equipment (DAQ, strain and pressure gauges, etc.) to evaluate prototype performance.
Program manager for in-house energetic materials testing. Headed the company’s application for ATF explosives license. Oversee all storage and use of energetics for testing at Corvid’s Mooresville, NC headquarters.
Extensive experience in component design for additive and subtractive manufacturing methods using Solidworks. Including tracking design development, creating manufacturing drawings and evaluating tolerance stack-up. Company Operations Officer, US Army, Fort Stewart, GA September 2016 – July 2017 Managed training schedules, large scale operational planning, and equipment maintenance for a 67 Soldier Company. Provided EOD support to law enforcement agencies across the US and critical pre-deployment training to Fort Stewart combat arms units.
Oversaw EOD response to over 75 hazardous ordnance items during law enforcement support and range clearance operations. Applied situational analysis to determine hazards and plan the safe remove and destruction of items.
Ensured correct calculation of blast overpressure factors, hazardous fragmentation distances, and chemical downwind hazards to minimize operational impact on surrounding infrastructure and populations. EOD Platoon Leader, US Army, Fort Stewart, GA October 2014 – September 2016 Responsible for providing oversight and technical guidance for three EOD Response Teams in a wide variety of operational environments. Planned and implemented training packages to ensure expertise of EOD Team Leaders.
Led 11 Soldiers on a joint training mission with multiple foreign military forces. Collaborated with foreign officers, leveraging my operational and training experiences, to update policies for multi-national EOD operations.
