Personal Statement:

Mechanical Engineering Student with experience in project management, research, and problem solving. During my time at college, I have conducted my own research study, managed a small group for my senior project, and completed multiple projects that assessed my critical thinking and creativity.

Education:

Grove City College, Grove City, PA

B.S. in Mechanical Engineering, May 2021

4 year ABET-Accredited Program

GPA 3.32

Relevant Coursework: Dynamics, Design for Manufacturing, Materials Science, Solid Modeling, Fluid Mechanics, Mechanics of Materials, Heat Transfer, System Dynamics, Stress Analysis, Renewable Energy Systems, Propulsion Systems, and Advanced Thermodynamics.

Senior Project: BPMI Extreme Environment Testing System (EETS)

Relevant Work Experience:

Package Handler, FedEx, Zelienople, PA 2020

Unloaded trailers full of packages weighing up to 150lbs in a safe and efficient manner to ensure intact and on time delivery.

Decreased load time by working with others to safely transport large, delicate, heavy, hazardous, or unique orders throughout the warehouse without incident.

Engineering Intern, Robinson Fans Inc, Harmony, PA 2019

Increased speed of project design by implementing a digital catalog of material samples and related data, allowing engineers to have instant access to needed information.

Saved $5000 by creating a cost account management system in excel to decrease the amount of manual work performed by the accounting department.

Improved the efficiency of project design by constructing an excel spreadsheet to calculate allowable shaft thickness and weld sizing for component parts of industrial fans.

Maintenance Assistant, Insight Pipe Contracting, Harmony, PA 2018

Demonstrated a committed work ethic by independently managing various duties such as maintaining the company grounds, washing company vehicles, and assisting in the loading of product.

Electrohydrodynamic (EHD) Drying Research:

Independent Research Student, Mechanical Engineering Department, Grove City, PA 2019 – 2020

Evaluated different areas of the EHD system to identify the cause of consistent experimental run failure, developing troubleshooting skills.

Redesigned the data acquisition network (DAN) for a more concise circuitry network to eliminate the issues causing experimental failure.

Constructed a new circuit board to control the various sensors associated with the DAN and repaired wired connections between circuit board and sensor ports.

Developed precise documentation and circuit diagrams for ease of use and understanding for others.

3D Modeling Engineering Project:

Placed in a random group of four, students were challenged to work as a team to design an item in Creo Parametric that was to be given to prospective engineering students, while meeting specific requirements.

Created the front and back plates of our item using a snap together design to fit the plates together, as well as assembled the entire groups parts into one assembly file with minor editing.

3D printed a prototype of our object and presented to the other groups and professor about our choice of design, methodology of creation, and improvements that could be made to improve the final product.

Technical Skills:

Software: PTC Creo Parametric, Matlab, Microsoft Office, Labview, and Mathematica

Material: Circuit design and construction, Soldering, Blueprint design and creation
