Objectives

Seeking a position where I can effectively utilize my expertise to foster the acquisition of the four language skills with critical and lateral thinking skills through LCA (Learner Centered Approach), English immersion and up-to- date technologies.

Ideologies & Philosophies about Education, Teaching & Learning

- Nationalism is unique to Saudi Arabia that is known as Saudi exceptionalism, the achievements and dominance of Saudi Arabia in the global arena show that it is an exceptional country with a manifest destiny not only for Muslims but for the whole world as well.

- Never too old to learn. Never too old to teach. Transforming minds and changing behaviors.

- The process found and done by hearts before minds “Educating the mind without educating the heart is no education at all,” said Aristotle.

- It is the process of facilitating learning activities and task – based projects to support students to be autonomous and self-directed.

- Wise cultivation of learning to meet people needs, experiences and emotions

- Establishing corporate values: excellence, integrity, citizenship, safety, accountability Pedagogical Style

I apply eclectic and holistic approaches that done by smart and digital aids, tools and techs. Here the teacher should select what suits his/her students, class, school, and community and also achieves goals and objectives. I can choose from wide range of methods, approaches and techniques starting from the earliest ones “sage on a stage” which is Grammar Translation Method up to the most updated ones e.g. Learner Centered Approach (LCA), Flipped Tech, Functional English

(FE) by using I Pads and I Books; for example, William Asher, TPR (Total Physical Response), Nome Chomsky, TG

(Transformational Grammar), Caleb Gattegno, SW (Silent Way), Stephen Krashen, the greatest Linguist, his theories, about CLIL (Content and Language Integrated Learning) His approach, which I was fascinated and magnetized by, is so simple, that is, if you don’t speak the language, so you don’t know the language and vice versa. CLIL is just promoting oral fluency of the language. His ideology is to focus on just two skills, reading and speaking. My style of teaching is that I am a facilitator, an instructive father, a positive patient, an excellent communicator, an influential delegator, an organizer, a designer and a tailor, a catalyst, a functionist, a troubleshooter, a problem solver, a team leader and a guider, a collaborator, a cooperator, a contributor, a creative, critical, and lateral thinker, a confidential negotiator, a professional presenter, an effective speaker, a program developer, an active producer, a motivator, an inspirer, an energizer, a builder of mutual trust and respectful rapport among students, colleagues, and administrators, a risk taker and innovator, a decision maker, a goal and objective achiever. Skills :

- Apply different techniques and activities to eliminate undesirable actions and behaviors e.g. distractions, demotivating and tardiness and maintaining discipline in the classroom. Also, establish and enforce rules for behaviors and procedures for maintaining order and discipline among the students in and out class.

- Design new training programs for distance education and tailor programs and courses for beginners, special groups and specific purposes.

- Conduct highly planned and tailored remedial classes is my specialty. Intensive Remedial Teaching Program IRTP is a therapy focusing on skills rather than on content.

- Always use excitement, challenge, inspiration, lateral / critical thinking and motivation intrinsically and extrinsically to create a vibrant atmosphere and superb rapport.

- Ability to organize a stimulating learning environment and demonstrate excellent creative teaching skills. Good organization of recording and evaluating progress.

- Willingness to collaborate with colleagues in preparing for learning and teaching. Mohammed J Attia

Dear Madams/Sirs,

I am a native Arabic speaker from Egypt, qualified and certified ESL teacher from Saudi Aramco with IELTS score 7.5 (lapsed). I have been teaching EFL since 1978: 10 years in Egypt and 25 years in Saudi Arabia. I earned a BA from TANTA University, College of Education, Department of English, with

“Good” grades. I proceeded to Delaware University; USA where I part completed an MA in Linguistics. I have taught all levels of learner in different environments. I worked as administrative assistant and translator for the Al Bassam Group from 2003-2004, another five years as a senior teacher in Egypt (1983- 1988), and 3 years as a coordinator in Saudi Aramco 2007-2010. Over the last thirteen years, Saudi Aramco has provided me with a wide range of skills and experiences that have enhanced and kept my professional abilities up to date. For example, my classes are presented via cutting edge electronic board technology and textbooks. In addition, I use Moodle software and am skilling myself for a roll out of iPad classes in the college.

I offer a high degree of professionalism, the ability to motivate, strong interpersonal skills and a good sense of humor. I have a natural capacity to adapt to surroundings and respect for cultural differences. It is always my pleasure to see my students pass and progress to be great achievers in life. I would be delighted to discuss the vacancy with you. I look forward to hearing from you. Kindest regards

Letters of

Recommendation

I am writing this Letter of Recommendation for Mohammed Attia as a professional educator colleague because I observed his professional practice during our contracts as ESL teachers at the National Industrial Training Institute in Al Hofuf, Saudi Arabia.

Mr. Attia demonstrated academic-level competence for English language instruction, and this was evident for each of the four language domains. Also, his skill for developing instructional rapport with students was exemplary. Furthermore, he displayed satisfactory punctuality and work attendance because we always conferred at my desk or his desk at the start of each work day. Last, he exhibited a mature and supportive approach as a colleague during benchmark assessments and group marking sessions.

Summarily, I highly recommend the hiring of Mohammed Attia for an ESL teacher vacancy or a grade-school level English teacher vacancy because he is competent and experienced.

Sincerely,

Curtis Anthony Wells, M.S.

To Whom It May Concern,

I had the pleasure of working with Mr. Mohammed Gamal Attia at the Rahima Training Unit, Northern Area Training Department, and Saudi ARAMCO from 2005 to 2007. Working with him in my capacity as a senior teacher provided me with valuable insights into Mr. Attia’s teaching style, work ethic and character. His teaching style was characterized mainly by his ability to focus on the needs and interests of his students. Acutely aware of different learning styles or learning preferences, he ingeniously adapted his teaching style to create a positive learning environment in which his students were motivated to become active participants in the learning process. In his determined efforts to achieve the desired results, he used a variety of engaging learner-centered approaches and different computer-inspired activities. His ability to integrate face-to-face instruction with online learning proved to be very beneficial as it put students in control of their own learning, paving the way for critical thinking and the habit of keen observation which were key elements to his students becoming independent learners. Mr. Attia’s strong commitment to the teaching philosophy that learning becomes easier, better, faster and even more fun when learners see a direct link between what they are doing in class and how it will result in job promotions and economic stability far exceeded his expectations. To his utter delight, he saw gradual transformation in their study habits, and remarkable improvements in their interpersonal relations. Refinement in behavior during class hours was evident, which was partly responsible for their impressive academic performance. Mr. Attia was clearly perceived as an exemplary role model whose professionalism in the performance of his duties and responsibilities as a subject teacher, facilitator, counselor and moral guide was beyond reproach. His genuine concern about his students’ welfare in the realm of both academic success and character formation is so impressed most of his mentees that many of them regarded him as one of their best teachers.

In addition to his solid pedagogy and impressive work ethic, Mr. Attia was a delight to work with. He was a reliable team player who would go out of his way to volunteer his time and efforts to help the organization live up to its vision and carry out its mission. With his infectious sense of humor, he had the knack of creating light moments and generating a friendly atmosphere on and off the job. This committed educator will make a huge contribution to whichever learning institutions he teaches. Should you have any further questions about him, please feel free to reach me at **********@*****.*** or 63 2-099********. Sincerely yours,

TANAJIB INDUSTRIAL TRAINING CENTER PO BOX7590- 31311 TEL 009**-**-***-**** CANDIDATE RECOMMENDATION LETTER

To Whom It May Concern:

It is my sincere pleasure to write this letter recommending Mohammed Attia teaching Positions. Mr. Attia recently participated in teaching a group of regular employees, culminates in a three month to the group professional development in business writing. All the group members express their delight to have Mr. Attia as their teacher because of his dedication, professional level of communication and meeting everyone’s needs of learning. I served as one of Mr. Attia’s supervisors in Tanajib Industrial Training Center in 2015. Because of my close and various associations with him, I feel qualified to comment on Mr. Attia’s potential as a competent educator. Mr. At- tia will make a valuable addition to your staff—he is an outstanding candidate for teaching positions. Within the professional development school context, Mr. Attia had the opportunity to work closely with his mentees teachers, trainees, administrator’s faculty, and other interns to explore issues of teaching and learning for understanding, and to consider connections between educational theory and practice. As part of the industrial Training Center Ac- ademic methods course, Mr. Attia collaborated with another intern to design and implement a series of lessons aimed at helping students investigate concepts associated with the language skills— writing in particular as well as the comprehensive assessment of students’ prior knowledge of the content. The learning experiences he crafted included a variety of opportunities for trainees to participate as researchers (e.g., making predictions, gathering and recording observations/data, and developing evidence-based explanations). Throughout the year, Mr. Attia continued to develop a progressive approach to ESL teaching, and has become very proficient at planning and teaching developmentally appropriate, hands-on, learner centered lessons. Mr. Attia not only demonstrated a command of the subject matter, but also interacted with students and facilitat- ed class discussion in a manner consistent with an experienced teacher. Students clearly respect him and respond to his proactive approaches to classroom management. It was truly a pleasure to observe this lesson. As part of his participation in the program, Mr. Attia also integrated technology into the curriculum in a variety of ways, all intended to enhance student learning. His experiences with applications of technology should prove to be valuable to any school or school district seeking to integrate computer technologies into its ESL curriculum. In short, Mr. Attia is an excellent experienced teacher. Not only is he able to plan instruction that is engaging and developmentally appropriate, use a variety of assessment strategies to monitor and evaluate his trainees learning, masterfully orchestrate classroom discussions, and effectively manage classroom routines and student behavior, but he also is a consummate professional. He is thoughtful, reflective, and committed to life-long learning and con- tinued development as an educator. Mr. Attia is willing to share his ideas with colleagues and capitalize on opportu- nities to learn from others. For instance, he usually takes the initiative to participate in the Quarterly In-House Training of the staff. As I noted, he is poised and articulate as a presenter, and his contributions are worthy of accolades. In the context in which I have had the pleasure of working with Mr. Attia, he has demonstrated his thoughtfulness, leadership skills, collaborative abilities, and willingness to take risks, and genuine compassion for his trainees and their development. After evaluating his work, observing his performance in class, and supervising his teaching, I feel confident that Mr. Attia will make a significant contribution as an educator. I give him my highest recommendation for teaching positions. If I can provide additional information to support Mr. Attia’s application for a position in your district, Please contact me (009***********). Email: ***********.******@******.*** Sincerely yours,
