Operations Technician, Nova Chemicals, Geismar, LA (October 2018-December 2020)

Safely operated pumps, compressors, fired heaters, boilers, reactors, distillation columns, turbo expanders, flare and other plant equipment within safe operating range. Followed procedures and assisted with revising when needed. Monitored performed jobs in the unit; ensuring jobs are performed with quality and safety. Wrote job permits such as (safe work, general, hot work, and confined space.) Performed troubleshooting on pumps, compressors, along with the daily ethylene plant issues. SAP was used daily with addressing problems with equipment. Communicated daily with DCS operator, engineers, and supervision on ways to improve the process as a team. Key Accomplishments: Achieved the expectation management set out for me by qualifying in Ethylene fractionation unit. Became a member of the ERT Team, and continuously teamed with others contributing to the company’s success, achievements, and safety protocol.

Operator, SNF Flopam, Plaquemine, LA (September 2017-October 2018)

Load trucks and railcars from product storage tanks; offload trucks to raw material storage tanks. Add chemical surfactants to tanks to begin batch process and replace filters in filter pods; run sample products in lab for quality control. Operate Distributed Control System to load trucks; control/monitor Differential Pressure (DP) on filter pods, flow rate and pump speeds, converting formulas accordingly. Troubleshoot pumps, instrumentation, and issues throughout the process. Perform lockout tag outs and permit writing. Operate forklift to transport products within the facility; observe safety practices throughout every procedure.

Marine Process Operator, Turner Industries, Baton Rouge, LA at ExxonMobil Refinery (March 2016-January 2017)

Moor and sail; loaded and unloaded ships and barges transported refined products such as gas, diesel, and large by-product chemicals; communicated job duration, quantity, and vessel arrival status to foremen, dock controllers, and PICs (person-in-charge); possess knowledge of MVR (marine vapor recovery system), oxidizer (flare system), and JISKOOT (crude sampling system).
