My role there was just to assist the company to keep the office open and available to clients until it was able to run at full capacity. As I was still a full-time student at that moment in time, the owner and manager allowed me to continue my studies during office hours when there was no other work. Although I was not actively job hunting when I was invited for this job, the few months I had sent there I was able to assist them as well as continue my studies and earn a bit of pocket money.

Responsibilities: Petty cash responsibility, various administrative duties & sales of consumables. - I applied for the administrative position at Compufin while I was completing my duties at the winery. The owner’s wife suggested me for the post as she was aware that the job at the winery was only seasonal and temporary. At Compufin I gained allot of business knowledge (i.e., sales, administrative workings, taking in consumables for repairs etc.). Compufin later on expanded their shop network to the Kalahari Mall in Upington where myself and two other colleagues were chosen to help run it. I ended my journey at Compufin because I wanted to pursue further studies that required me to engage on a full- time basis.

Job description: General Help- the year after graduating high school, I started work at the local winery. I was stationed in the weighbridge room and my duties there included, weighing in full trucks of grapes and then weighing them out again as well as data capturing. This process allowed the winery to get the nett weight of grapes delivered by the
farmer/farm. The capturing of data regarded the sugar content of the grapes delivered, as well as the
farmer’s/farms details to ensure accurate pay out to the farmer/farm at the end of the season.
