Work Experience

Leidos Engineer Inc, Seattle, WA June 2019 - Preset

Distribution Engineer, 40 hrs/wk

Supervisor: James Kuiken

Joint Use Make Ready Work Packages - Seattle City Light (SCL). As a distribution Engineer review propose location for wireless antenna attached from Puget Sound Energy (PSE) for their gas meter network upgrade. We also review the designed for any necessary make ready work (MRW) from Power Engineers.

Performs field work to measure pole attachment heights and field data while assessing the amount of space required by the joint use applicant.

The Leidos team and I evaluate clearances with sag and tension data, as well as provide structural analyses and develops make ready work plan drawings from the SCL geographic information system, utility locate notifications, easement assessment, and electrical calculations in the case where transformers will be replaced

Leidos leverages its expertise in the NESC clearance requirements in conjunction with SCL’s construction standards to engineer and design construction work packages, as well as providing reviewing of joint use work packages developed by other applicants on behalf of SCL

Potelco Inc, Associate distribution Engineer, Kent, WA 08/2017 to 06/2019

Associate Distribution Engineer, 40 hrs/wk

Supervisor: Chris Tobin

Project Engineering of electrical distribution and junior team lead for Cable Remediation Program (CRP), Complete restoration and modifications for outdated underground distribution infrastructures and responsible for assuring new designs are compliant with company and worldwide standards

Provided training, mentoring, support, and guidance to new engineers.

Primary job emphasis will be to engineer and draft system capacity and reliability project.

Determine tools and equipment required to perform scope of job.

Responsible for electrical commissioning and overseeing the installation of systems, and equipment.

Investigating problems and diagnosing and repairing faults

Tacoma Power, Tacoma, WA May – Sept. 2014

Intern, Electrical Engineer, 40 hrs/wk

Supervisor: John Martinson

Investigate, designed, ordered equipment, processed statements of work, and created documentation for a remote alarm system update/replacement project.

Supported and maintained steady-state and dynamic models of Tacoma’s transmission system for use in PowerWorld computer simulation tool.

Assisted basescase equipment models, generation patterns, load conditions, voltage profiles and regulations settings to modify base case flows to simulate realistic conditions for Operations and planning time horizon.

Participated and assisted in performing calculations and coordination of Tacoma’s SEL 321 relay settings in order to maintain safe, reliable and compliant power system.

Consult with architects, engineers, developers, electrical contractors and representatives from other government agencies and property owners during the planning, design and construction of large commercial and industrial projects to ensure compliance with the Requirements for Electric Service.

Performing power system simulation (load flow and voltage stability), identified problems, and recommend corrective action plans within planning horizon limits for the load areas to ensure compliance with applicable NERC and WECC planning standards as well as Tacoma Power planning criteria.

Assisted PSE's boundary transmission lines and performed analysis heavy load new services request. Communicated and collaborated with PSE’s team members in order to accomplish assigned task. Which led to completion of assigned project within the established constrains.
