Responsibilities:

Part of a 12-analyst team to design and implement a Corporate Marketing System (CMS). This system links with the Customer Order System for the US and International customers. Involved in the review and redesign of the CMS logical model using ADW CASE. This system resided under DB2 using COBOLII, BMS, and CICS/VS. Worked on batch conversion of various COBOL/VSAM batch programs to COBOLII/DB2. Also involved in the revision of existing IDEAL/DATACOM subsystems to be converted to CICS/VS using DB2. Such revision generated a conversion guideline to all existing batch programs using VSAM. Worked on conversion programs that populated the entire customer DB2 database using a combination of existing VSAM, flat files, and DATACOM/DB. Worked on the conversion of the International customer database residing under FOXPRO to populate existing DB2 tables. Wrote the duplicate elimination process to clean the CMS database of duplicate customers and its corresponding addresses. Wrote various online programs for the Customer Maintenance subsystem as well as a JCL Control Card online subsystem (CCORS) to service batch stream processing.

Involved in the redesign of a security subsystem to cover the Valdez terminal through Prudhoe Bay, written under CICS/VS, COBOL, and VSAM at the host, dBase IV and Windows at the PS/2 level. Resolved logical and physical database model redesign as well as involved in the setup for Outward Bound product to transfer data files from PS/2s to host SQL/DS database. NETNAV was also utilized for this data transfer function.

Involved in the logical as well as the physical database modeling process for this Data Logger system at all platforms. Wrote all VM/AS, SQL, C, and some UBASIC code as well as EASEL prototype for this product.

The final product was to be developed under IMS/DC using COBOLII and DB2. Other responsibilities included a review of all BMPs under IMS to determine checkpoint intervals and be able to evaluate the IMS environment using the SAR tool. This study was carried out to review system capacity when operating with IMS/DB2 and its commit protocols for response time/batch processing considerations.

The system related to the US Air Force CAMS which controls/maintains all F-16 airplane parts and engine/maintenance/flight schedules. The final product was installed for the Turkish Air Force (IBM 4381-93E).
