Project1 (B.E): Hybrid solar charger.

Description-“The effectiveness of a solar charging device is affected by the temperature. On sunny days with plenty of sunlight, solar panels provide the most energy. On a typical day, the solar panel receives four or five hours of bright sunshine. When the weather is cloudy, the battery charging process is hampered, and the battery does not receive a complete charge. This dilemma can be solved with the help of this simple hybrid solar charger”.

Project2 (M.Tech): Condition assessment of the transformer insulation by Return voltage measurement (RVM). “Paper is in review for conference”.

Description- “Due to ageing, insulation of the power transformer degrades. Ageing occurs mainly in the presence of oxygen, moisture content in the insulation of power transformer. The ageing process causes an increase in the dissipation factor. To evaluate the service life of the current working transformers, the monitoring of the insulation degradation is essential. Many new techniques for monitoring power transformers' insulation degradation based on dielectric response measurement have been established, but the instruments used for those techniques are very expensive. In this paper, the return voltage measurement technique is used to monitor the high voltage (HV) insulation degradation; the data was obtained using a low-cost instrument established at Jadavpur University's High Tension Laboratory. This paper reports the relationship between the initial rate of rising of RVM with variation in ageing and dissipation factor”.
