Research Study UAH 2019-2020 “Effects of Blood Flow Restriction and Slide Board Training on Lower Body Strength in College Aged Males.”

The study was spearheaded by Dr. Paul Whitehead of the Kinesiology department, and 3 other students aided in the project. The study was a year-long operation that worked with the IRB to get permission and took a look at blood flow restriction training on lower body strength over the course of an allotted time to see if there were any positive gains from using as slideboard to train versus a group that did not. The slideboard mimicked the motions that hockey players use on the ice and the clinical trials took place from October-November of 2020.
