Key Responsibilities
Manage contractor preparation of detailed design drawings, material specifications and procurement, and/or construction bid packages.
Provide input to develop and prepare contracting plan and strategy for solicitation, evaluation, and award of contract for detailed engineering, procurement, and construction.
Review and resolve day to day contractor’s claims and complaints related to assigned project (Civil) work during construction, and ensure HSE compliance.
Maintain full site records a detailed diary of the day’s work activities, issues, work approved or rejected, hours of operation, labor and equipment used, etc.
Coordinate with the contractor’s engineer in charge of the work on a daily basis to advice on the proper execution of the work.
Coordinate with the Work engineer (Materials) and arrange for sampling and testing of satisfactorily completed work, and quality assurance testing of suspect materials. Coordinate with the Surveyors to check the line and grade of completed work for conformance with the plans and specifications.
Report to the construction manager if any failure of the Contractor to perform the work as per the drawings and standard specifications and to provide very good workmanship.
