Responsibilities:

Recently the client separated into two unit and TCS was setting up two new datacenter for the client. As a Backup and Storage SME my primary role was planning the backup architecture and setting up all the backup, replication and DR setups to the industry standard from existing NetBackup environment to newly built data center Commvault environment.

Installation/configuration/upgrade of new CommCell servers, media agents and client servers on various platforms.

Configuring storage policies for backups for various servers and testing replication setup and DR setup using Commvault replication agent.

Coordination between operation team and project team is one of the key roles as most of the operation team is working from offshore.

Environment assessment and moving existing backup from NetBackup to Commvault with better RPO and RTO is one of the key points from client side which we have achieved.
