DETAILS OF PROJECT WORK
ORGANISATION: INSTRUMENTS RESEARCH DEVELOPMENT ESTABLISHMENT (I.R.D.E), Dehradun.
PROJECT TITLE : Broad Band Anti Reflection Coating on Zinc Sulphide (ZnS) at Shortwave Infrared (SWIR) Region From 0.8 to 1.7 µm
DURATION : 6 months (Dec, 2010 – June, 2011)
DESCRIPTION:
The aim of my work is to reduce unwanted reflection to very low value (or) to achieve average transmission 99% on ZnS substrate over a Broad Band region, which is Short wave Infrared (SWIR) from 0.8 to 1.7µm. It is manually very difficult to achieve low reflection throughout the Broad Band region. So, I had used the Film Star software to design for my problem and design optimized by the Comprehensive Search Method to achieve the required result. The importance of SWIR region is that which is having huge applications in many fields like in GaAs sensors and mainly in Defense that is thermal imaging, night vision devices, high efficient cameras and many other industrial applications. This region has special characteristics over the other IR regions.
