Role: Project Automatic Tire Inflator

Project Scope: Partnered with students and faculty on a second capstone project to complete Tire Inflation. Researched, analyzed and implemented a central tire inflation system (CTIS) to provide control over air pressure across all four vehicle wheels to improve performance on a variety of surfaces.

Collaborated with the design team to formulate equations that determine air losses in tires resulting from the reduction of gas mileage, tire life, safety, and other vehicle performance factors utilizing concepts of fluid dynamic.

Researched automation techniques that reduces wear and tear, increases fuel economy and improvements in fuel safety through the development of a self-inflating tire system.

Utilized learning theories in core mechanical principles, thermodynamic and expansion, mechatronics and robotics process automation to develop a prototype device and pump design.
